I don't think Ponch is your type. Sorry. Now if it was Bear, you might have a shot.

Estrada is huge here in the DR. After CHIPS was cancelled, his career was in the dumper. His agent realized he had a devoted female (and gay male) following in Mexico based on the popularity of his Ponch character (which was actually voiced over in Spanish by a Mexican actor.) He is second generation Mexican-American and was raised in SoCal, but his parents insisted on speaking English in the house, and he knew almost no Spanish. The guy became fluent in less than a year and started getting work on novelas (latin soap operas). He became a superstar who was swooned over by every chica and maricon in Latin America for his truck-driver character Johnny in 400 episodes of "Dos Mujeres un Camino" during the 90s.
Estrada has acted in Christian films before. He starred with Pat Boone in The Cross and the Switchblade in 1970. Lately he has been trying out real-life law enforcement as a deputy sheriff with the internet task force in Bedford county (same as Shaq) and is suposedly trying to get certified as a federal marshall.

Dos Mujeres rocked back in the day. It scored incredible ratings.
Ponch was a rare opportunity for Latinos to see someone who looked like them on network television along with Freddie Prinze and Desi Arnaz.
