LYNCHBURG -- "You would never guess how severe the accident was."

Brian Ashbaugh's voice carries a sense of wonder when he thinks about his daughter and her brush with death in November.

The woman who's up and walking around, reacquainting herself with her guitar after breaking both wrists, couldn't be pegged for someone who fell nearly 100 feet from a train trestle just over six weeks ago, according to her father.

Julianne Ashbaugh is a walking miracle, and her father said Friday that EMTs and doctors agree.

"There's no other way to explain it," he said. "The laws of physics were against her."
