Rules, nobody can do anything but complain about whiny students. I assume Medic will delete all other posts

"oh my gosh I have to get to school 10 minutes earlier to find a spot!"

"It's the end of the world! I can't wear shorts to class!"

Seriously, what a bunch of babies. Get over it.

I can't find a close parking space.

Folks--it is COLLEGE. You're not supposed to find a close one. Park at David's place. Centrally located to main and north campus.

I'm a current student, can I add to this list?

During freshman orientation, I had a couple guys on my halls drop these gems:

"What do you mean I can't sign out to my girlfriends house?"

and

"The only way I'm taking out my earrings is if you physically take them from me. That ain't happening."

Those are sad. How do you not know those two rules before you come here?

people in my hall were even dumber than that, asking the most rediculous questions, such as "if peter pan and captain hook are fighting in our dorm room and curfew hits and they wont leave, what do we do?" im a current student and i honestly dont care about the rules

i don't really care about people complaining, because it doesn't effect me in any way. i mean if they want to make their college experience harder on themselves then it needs to be it is there own business....it does provide good entertainment.....

but there is one thing that annoys me about a lot of students: It is how they constantly are blaming jerry falwell for the rules and the curfew and other things....he does not have anything to do with the rules, or for much at liberty for that matter. I said this in a post on another topic...he is just a mouth peice for the college now. It is the other old people that decide on these rules. If Jerry had it his way there would be no curfew....i am pretty sure the only dress code policy he cares about is modesty....but whatever.....anyways that is the one thing that annoys me....everything else just makes me laugh

i hate the students that come here and think they are personally going to convince the school to change the rules, as if they are the first person to oppose the rules. Or the ones who get here and either havent heard of the rules or think they were just kidding with them

I hate it when students complain about getting reps because they are out of hair code.

It's not the RAs fault that you're out of dress code. Sorry, we're "hair-nazi's".

"But I didn't know it was rated R"-my roomie, got in trouble for watching a rated R movie that he had...ITS ON THE BACK OF THE BOX FOR CRYING OUT LOUD...I EVEN WARNED HIM NOT TO LEAVE ANY LAYING AROUND, AND I TOLD HIM ABOUT THE RULE BEFORE HE EVEN GOT HERE...sheesh.

with all due respect that happend to me and my roommate freshmen year, we truely had no idea the first matrix was rated r....laugh all you want, say its on the back of the box....whatever....i didn't think the first one had anything in it to warrant an R rating...so never thought twice about it....the RA saw it, talked to us, and took it away.....no problem, once we found out it was rated r we felt kind of dumb....but didn't complain or anything....so there is my story....

This isnt a complaint about whiny students, but more about the students that just got off the boat, and havent grasped the concept of showers. has anyone else noticed this? its torture to have to be in the same hall as them

I'm going to say this in the nicest way possible:

There was a big problem with that last semester when we had a huge group from Nepaul come to LU. They weren't in the same bathing habits as Americans.

yeah, and not to be racist at all, but it seems like its mainly all the indian students on campus. I honestly dont think they have taken a single shower since getting off the plane

Their culture is different than ours.

yeah i understand that. But isnt part of the liberty way being like well kept and whatnot? cant an RA give them reps for not being bathed?

I've never thought of that before.

You can receive reprimands for personal hygiene.

Case in point, I had a roommate last semester that stunk to the point where I'd gag when coming into the room because he just wouldn't shower. We had to ask our RA to step in and he still refused.

Showering

I know an RA gave reps to more than one person a few years back for personal Hygeniene and they did stand, however they were not given to a foreign student. It is possible, but you gotta find the right person who wants to or cares to inforce it.
