City, college leaders work toward partnerships

City and college leaders are beginning to unite around the idea of joining together to pursue a service project that combines classroom skills with real-world experience.

On Friday, during a meeting of the new "Town and Gown" initiative, officials started to piece together a plan to create some kind of joint service or internship program that would allow college students and faculty to contribute to city projects.
