This happened Monday night in front of DeMoss, and WSET was there to film it:

Lynchburg, VA - Liberty University lit up its campus Christmas tree Monday.
It's the very first time Liberty's put a massive Christmas tree outside. Chancellor Jerry Falwell Jr. says the idea had been tossed around for a while and this year they finally did it. It stands in front of DeMoss Hall. They got it from a farm in Pennsylvania.

Students sang Christmas carols and drank hot chocolate before they turned the tree's white lights on. Some say Liberty is a unique campus at Christmas...Falwell Junior made an appearance for the lighting. He says a nativity scene will go up Tuesday.

My dorm put up a massive tree when I was a junior in undergrad. Great to see it officially happen.

I was going to mention this but forgot. I think it's a nice touch by the school, it definitely draws your attention when driving by on 460.

Definitely a good idea. I'm sorta surprised nobody thought of it sooner. Especially me.
