So what are all of the locals' plan to catch some fireworks around here since LU/TRBC aren't doing their America extravaganza? I imagine the Hillcats are doing some. I've been to theirs before and I think they do it every year. Is there anything better? Does Appomattox do any?

Bedford does a nice show for a small town. You can eat at Ruby Tuesday's and hang out in their parking lot to watch the fireworks in your lawn chair.

I think they do. In Thursday's paper before the 4th, they usually list all the local places to go see fireworks.

I heard the D-Day Memorial does a show thats good. I was asking this same questions and thats what info i got. I know thats in Bedford but im not sure if Bedford City itself does a seperate one....

Fireworks will go off at Snowflex this July 4th. They are going to show "UP" and the "Blind Side" that night. More info can be found on Snowflex's website.

Read carefully. they are not shooting them there, they are just saying it is the highest point in town to see the other fireworks.

hmmm, that's actually a pretty awesome idea. I think it may take something away to see them from that far away though. I'm intrigued.

You miss hearing the boom. I remember when I went to TRBC's thing when I wasn't working at City Stadium and you could see the stadium's fireworks very well as well as Poplar Forest before they launched on the mountain. Pretty, but the noise and the closeness just adds more IMO.

While construction this summer at Liberty University’s Williams Stadium means Thomas Road Baptist Church won’t hold its annual “Celebrate America” event – and its big fireworks show—Liberty University’s Snowflex Centre will host “Celebration on the Mountain” from 2 p.m.-midnight on Sunday, complete with fireworks after dark. That event also will include free slip and sliding, water games and movie shows of “Up” and “The Blind Side,” as well as discounted pricing for skiing and snowboarding of $5 per hour (including lift tickets and rentals).

I think they need to re-check their facts.

Go to LU from 2pm - 6pm and then come to the Hillcats to see the best show in town!
