I got a call last night related to the windstorm. Turns out a tree in my backyard on Peakland Place came down crushing my garage and some of my fence--and knocking out power in the area. The NA has a photo of the damage in today's paper. I'm praying my two cars I keep stored there are not badly damaged as they are pretty dear to me.

That was one heck of a storm last night. Probably the most water I've ever seen fall from the sky in such a short time. There were torrents of water pouring into all the entrances of TRBC. and LCA.
But I'm sorry to here about your home and cars. :(

Just glad to hear no one was home and injured, badger74. Hopefully any damage is very limited to the cars. I can't imagine having something like this happen and not being close by.

Thanks. I got some better pix today from my tree man. Scary but I might have gotten lucky. One branch appears to have gone through the side door and is leaning on my car but not smashed into it.
I'd post a pix if I knew how.

Here is a pic as the storm arrived...we were at La Caretta and I was trying to figure out the safest place to go in case of a tornado!

the lights blinked on and off in the computer lab during the storm and I was worried the power would go out completely.

Do you have one of those garages that open up onto Boonsboro? I always thought those were cool.

If a 8 inch mirror on a pole on the edge of your drive way is the only thing keeping you from being T-boned 2-3 times a day....I'd say it's a little more nerve racking more than cool....just sayin...

But I dont think anyone on Peakland has one of those, or their address wouldnt be peakland.....right? I might be wrong. My grandma's sister lives on Peakland....hands down the most prestigious strip of road in the area....unreal place.

Yes, the house faces on Peakland Place and has a PP address but the garage faces Boonsboro. Many of the homes on that side of Peakland have garage that face Boonsboro. Getting out in traffic can be a little tough but usually it not bad. I come out with the car facing Boonsboro so I can see better and hit the opening fast.
I agree Peakland is a very cool street--we were lucky to find a place for sale there when we were looking around Lynchburg in 2003.
My adjuster has given the official nod--I get a new garage so I hope to build one a bit bigger with an upstairs Man Room. First I have to find out how much I can spend. The most I can get is about $32,000 but it could be less based upon his estimates.

Ok, my turn to say I wish I had a stillfram camera...there's some awesome cloud-to-ground lightning happening in Salem right now, and my hilltop home has a nice view of it.
