Ned's

A new small business that specializes in rare imports (as far as Lynchburg is concerned) and domestic products made by small manufactuers from around the US. It's off of Rivermont Avenue a couple doors down from Rivermont Pizza. They also have snacks and drinks there too.

My girlfriend's brother and I went to Rivermont Pizza the other day, and we were walking back to our cars, when we saw Ned's and decided to stop in and see what it was all about. It's a Beer and Wine store, with some pretty exotic sodas, snacks (chips, crackers, wafers), cheese, chocolates, etc. It's essentially the new Vines, just two doors down, and minus the restaraunt part. The guy working the counter said they MAYBE, might try seeing if they can't find a way to freeze and store Rivermont Pizzas and sell them, which would be pretty cool. Open up the freezer and BLAM, Rivermont Pizza to heat up in the oven at home. I don't know how realistic that is, but it would be neat.

It's a side venture started by RP's owner and another guy. If craft microbrews are your thing (and they're mine), then give them a shot. As Winter noted, they also sell hot sauces, premium sodas, ice cream, etc.

By premium sodas, do you just mean more than 5 flavors of Jones? If not, I'm intrigued.

I was definitely looking at the craft micro brews. But from what I remember (I've only been there once so far), they didn't even have Jones, they had other cream sodas but I don't remember the names.

By the way, the name of the place as on the sign is "Ned's Beer and Wine". That's like asking this board if they've been to the ABC store on Timberlake. I assume that omission was on purpose.

I don't know if anyone here has been to the ABC store on Timberlake. I also didn't ask if anyone has been to Ned's, I was just commenting that a new store had opened and some of the things it had to offer. As for the sign, I've only been there the one time, and I didn't read the entire sign. Just saw that it was "Ned's" and nothing else.
