All of this is taking place at my grandparents property. They have their house surrounded by 100 police officers. The suspect shot a police officer too and the Helicopter following him. The suspect is still at large in the cow pasture behind the house.

With all the drama on the board about Rocco this is a reminder that there are much more important things in life beyond sports.

Yeh, the guy goes target shooting every day driving my grandfather nuts...luckily he never complained.
He shot at my cousin and my cousin called the cops and told them where he was...thats when all this started and they connected it to bodies found.
On Police tower road (.5 miles from where this happened) there is a State Trooper head quarters...they keep a SWAT truck there all the time, I've never seen it move in 20 years....it's moving now

Body count is up to 8....baffles me as to how they havent gotten him yet.
Thanks dback....I think I have a tendency to not realize how serious some things are because the more I think about it the more likely it was that something could have happened to them. He entered like 5 houses within .5 miles and there arent but 6 or so to choose from due to being well spaced. Pretty crazy. I just got a message on facebook that it's the #4 story in the UK on
www.sky.com or something like that
Pretty crazy stuff thats for sure.

He surrendered this morning.

I think the police were confident that he was contained and wasn't going anywhere and for their own safety wanted to wait for daylight before moving in on him.

Just heard from Matshark last night, one of the guys we went to high school with and that he trains with at RAM lost 4 of his relatives in this slaying. Keep him and everyone affected in your prayers.
Two fifteen year olds and a 4 year old were among the victims.

Another strange twist in this horrible story. He may have misunderstood what was going on and thought that his sister was trying to kick him out when she was actually giving the house to him.
An attorney who handled legal matters for the family of an Appomattox man arrested in connection with the slaying of his sister, brother-in-law and six others said Thursday there may have been a tragic misunderstanding about the transfer of a house.
In a phone interview from his Lynchburg office, attorney Henry Devening said he completed paperwork last week to transfer control of the Snapps Mill Road home and surrounding property to Christopher Speight after it had temporarily been held by his sister, Lauralee Sipe, and Devening.
