Plane Almost crashing in Lynchburg

Did any one else see the Government plane in Lynchburg yesterday. It was a plane that said United States of America on it, it was just like the air force one planes. Same size and colors. Anyway it flew real close over LU and circled around the airport for almost two hours. A few of us went to the air port to look and it would keep trying to land, but as soon as it hit the runway it would go back up and circle around the city, there was obviously something wrong with it. Any one no what happened or what was wrong with it?

It may not have had anything wrong with it. The plane could have been doing touch-and-go's, pilots do that a lot to practice and train.

It was definitely touch and go's. They've been doing them for a few weeks now. The runway at the airport has been extended and they're doing testing to see what can land and what can't.

And by the way, this wasn't the 747 that is Air Force One. It was one of the smaller ones.

So most likely this was testing being done by the TSA?

The plane is a Boeing C-32 (757), sometimes called Air Force Two. It started doing touch and gos here at least a year ago and has been seen here several times over the last year. Sweet plane- and much quieter than Air Force One.

Just practice time. I was cool seeing it. The pilots practice different approaches to the airport and the size runway from time to time. The Lynchburg News in Advance wrote a article about it in the past.

Speaking of which, I didn't know there was a Gander Mtn. over in Roanoke.
