Campbell County, VA - Campbell County Sheriff Terry Gaddy says a body was found in a shallow grave off Camp Hideaway Road on Liberty Mountain Sunday evening. Investigators were called out to the area around 5 p.m. after a neighbor found clothing and suspicious articles. Gaddy says at this point it's not clear if the remains are male or female. The body is badly decomposed and has been in the area for at least six to eight weeks.

Sheriff Terry Gaddy, Campbell County Sheriff's Office - "Definitely a suspicious death and we will be working it as a suspicious death. From the clothing that we found too, it may suggest that it might be a younger female."

That was the first thing everyone thought of. Hopefully some more info will come out today or tomorrow after the ME can look over the body.

This is walking distance from my house... I am the closest neighbor. People always said I was paranoid for having guns around, looks like my gut feeling was right. There are always sketchy cars parked right where the body was buried at.

well, while I agree with Jr., it'd suck for a hiker to come across someone trying to bury their evidence.

Falwell noted the wooded area can be a draw for people looking for a hiding place.
