Lynchburg is in 5th, just behind pittsburgh. Pretty sure a good majority of the votes for lynchburg are from LU, and lynchburg really sucks as a city, but if it helps the school, whatever.

In 5th, 30 votes behind Pitt and 1500 votes behind leader Louisville/Jefferson County-KY/IN. Ahead of 6th place Nashville by around 700 votes and we're killing Richmond.
I'm almost tempted to vote for Roanoke tomorrow, since I'll be moving there shortly.

You can't go up from #1, in theory based on this stupid poll, you are have reached the echelon of excellent city life. So it can only go down from there...

I still live in in Lynchburg...moving to Roanoke means I'll be going up. Granted, I do not agree with this poll in any way, shape or form, but still...

Basically Kiplingers is a fairly well thought of magazine and their polls hold weight with whoever reads them... so... polling as their number 1 city has a lot of business benefits, etc...

poll should be fixed where an IP address can only vote once for the entirety of the poll to prevent as much ballot stuffing.

they did have an issue with that so they reset the poll to where it was the previous day before the stuffing occurred and it seemed to have fixed the issue

And roanoke is still #1? People in those other cities must not care much.

roanoke outdoors is putting on a concerted effort to have the Noke ranked #1. and it looks like they're winning. personally, i think its great that there will be two cities in central VA in the top 5.

It's a sad statement for the rest of the country if Lynchburg and Roanoke are two of the top 5.
