A Sea Of Red

Hey guys, I know FFG had been through this a while back, but it's that time of year again for the Sport Management department to put on our golf classic for marketing class and for the benefit of the Sport Management department. All proceeds of the event go to benefit the Sport Management department, providing scholarships for underclassmen with a financial need.

We are in need of teams of four and hole sponsorships for this year's event, which will be held October 31, 2009 at Ivy Hill Golf Course in Forest. Teams of four cost $200 (which is actually a bargain considering a weekend round of golf costs 40 dollars on it's own, and you get lots of free perks with this tournament), and sponsorship packages cost from 150 dollars and up, and include signage for your company or cause, and higher packages include a team of players alongside your hole sponsorship.

I hear ya... it will be the first home game that I will miss part of, more than likely. But I gotta do what I gotta do.

I know no one who learned anything about marketing from the sport marketing class.

But seriously, if anyone is looking to sponsor or play, please let me know. This is going to be fun, regardless of the timing, and from a class standpoint, it's pretty critical.

Yeah these guys need all the help they can get. It was fun a few years ago and I've heard positive feedback from people who play.

Just a bump...

I know times are tough but I could really use one more business willing to sponsor a hole for the event. You can even combine forces and split the cost with one or more businesses. You don't even have to be a business, you can donate the money to this good cause (training young champions for Christ in the field of Sport Management), get a tax break, and have the sign at the event say whatever you would like it to.

Sponsorships start at $150. If two businesses split that up, it's only $75. I know these days any amount is tough, but I really need the help, and it's for a good cause...

Just an idea, if 15 people from the board donated 10 dollars each, we could have "FlameFans.com" sponsor a hole... 10 bucks is next to nothing (I would even donate 10 dollars of my own) and it is for a good cause. What do ya say guys?

The main problem with this is that I came up with the idea too late... we need to have this done ASAP. Hate to put pressure on like that but really... it's mainly my fault. But if you guys can mobilize quickly on this that would be awesome

Of course Sly will need to OK this whole ordeal... however...

If we do pull this off, we would need something to put on the sign at the event... and while the FlameFans logo would be cool... I thought maybe we should put the logo from the stickers for the JT Scholarship Fund on the sign, and give information on how to get in touch with whoever is in charge of the fund...

Awesome, thanks... I will be at the LUnatics Tailgate all morning (The LUnatics tailgate is in the upper parking lot right between the bookstore and Hancock building, across the street from the little ticket window at the front gate of the stadium) , from about 11:00 AM 'til a couple hours before game time, and then after the game for about an hour. I will also be at the Volleyball match Friday night. Anyone who would like to donate to the cause can see me there (most of you know who I am, for those who don't, just ask for Leo (everyone knows who I am anyways so it's not like it's breaking news that I'm Leo))

If you would like to make other arrangements let me know. You can even mail a check from out of town if that works best for you. I would say PayPal, but money that goes to PayPal really cant be turned into cash/check in real life, at least not easily, and I'd rather not have to deal with all that.

Like I mentioned, the sign and such will be in memory of Fumble, rather than FlameFans or anything like that. There might be some mention of FF, but I think it would be best to honor FR in this way, by donating money to help more students get an education here at LU and impact athletics with a Christian witness the way Jeff did.

The LUnatics are going to throw some money into this. JT was our original faculty sponsor so it's the least we can do.
