LU, please start towing the freshmen already. I drove around for over a half hour today and couldnt find anything, let alone even try and move. finally gave up because my class had already been going for 20 minutes. hopefully this all gets resolved in the next few days

What sticker do you have? There is a ton of commuter parking open.

Ah, the return of the annual parking sucks thread. It's so refreshing, marks the beginning of a new semester. You should have known better than to show up only 10 minutes early to search for a spot during the first week. For shame.

arriving only 10 minutes before class starts is not really the smart thing to do regardless of how good or bad the parking situation is.

As our dearly departed Fumble used to say, if you arrive on campus before 7:00 a.m., you can park anywhere you want.

The only way I know that it's crazy right now is that there wasn't a single parking space at Hancock open today. That rarely ever happens.

i actually had arrived 25 minutes before class. I dont know where you were, but there wasnt a single commuter spot open in the religion pit, demoss, eagle run, anywhere. it sucked.

Did you check the Rot? Or did you consider parking and taking a bus?

These parking "problems" are there for a reason. They're trying to discourage on campus driving. They want people to park on the outskirts of campus and either walk or take the bus. I walked from the FOC to the law school for two different classes. It wasn't a bad walk at all, and this is coming from a fat kid.

yeah I know that, my complaining is more because I saw alot of orange and yellow stickers in the commuter lot. I have 6 bible classes, all located in the religion hall. I know this happens every year, and I know that it should eventually lessen out once the stupid on campus kids realize they get towed when they park in commuter spots. Im just saying I wish they would get more tow trucks on campus.

Yeah, it's annoying. It takes forever to get around campus right now. Those kids will start to learn though. They do every year. It just takes a week or two for them to figure it out. Everyone's found their classes now. Give it another day or two and they'll start towing.

No they are towing right now. Yesterday in the pit I saw a line of about 20 cars that had just parked in the lan and blocked off the whole backside, and LUPD was just blocking them in while the one tow truck took em away one at a time, it was pretty awesome. I know it will resolve itself soon its just frustrating right now.

Related note, I get ticked whenever I see anyone park in Dr. Towns spot, and today I was walking up the stairs and saw a different car in there and was like "What the crap just because you have a nice car doesnt mean you get to take Dr. Towns spot" then I got higher up the stairs and saw his license plate, and realized he bought a new car.

The commuter/staff lot by TRBC never completely fills up. Park there, take the bus to main campus. Sure its sucks, but it beats failing a class.

I know how to encourage people not driving to class and commuters parking further away to take buses. Destroy the on-campus lots. Sod them. 2 birds killed with 1 stone.

Parking isn't a problem when you can park a golf cart next to wherever you go.

Or do a weapons check on every vehicle that comes on campus. Why do you hate birds so much?

Yeah but you see, I unlike alot of the rest of students, understand that If Im a commuter sticker and I park in a faculty spot, Im breaking the parking rules and should be ticketed, or now towed. I park in commuter spots and commuter spots only.

Thanks, Manson, for keeping score at home. I originally had 13 words, and then cut it down to nine (I mean 10).

Thank you God.
Parking Enforcement - Towing starts 8/31
LU Police Department

Beginning Monday, August 31 towing of vehicles that violate the parking policy will begin.

Please be sure to park in the areas designated for the decal you were issued for your vehicle and in a valid parking space. Surveys have shown there are over 1000 empty parking spaces daily on campus. Plan time since some of these spaces are a distance from Academic buildings.

If you still need to register your car please go the LUPD web site at www.liberty.edu/lupd and follow the instructions.

Stay safe.

how about we remove all parking on campus except or faculty and commuters....all parking at north campus.

after seeing so many other campuses...the parking situation is our own fault.

in theory this is a great idea, and would add much to the campus. I would love it if they did this down the road, but theres alot of other problems on campus to figure out first (like where to house all the students) that they shouldnt add the problem of trying to add twice the buses to support the commuters having to ride from north campus as well, on top of adding all those parking spaces onto north and davids place to compensate for those lost in the pit, demoss, and rot.

If you have seen one of the buses on campus during school hours, they are usually jam packed with twice as many people as they can hold, and you usually end up waiting in line so long its faster to just walk. The Bus system needs a major reworking, though I do think if there were no cars on their routes, it would drastically help the situation.
