Is that some sort of southern term for hemorroids?

no, google search it. Its the little white specks you sometimes cough up that alot of people just usually think is a piece of food from a previous meal. Obviously, if you dont have your tonsils, you wont get them, but if you do, tonsils will usually get them. Many people just never know what it is.

I get them - they are really annoying, BUT I have a solution.

Go to a pharmacy and get a water pic(k) - make sure it's a strong one and shot them out. They will come right out.

Good Luck.

Hmmm, maybe I have had them, I just usually mistake it for strep. And that would explain my horribly foul breath.

i dont think i've ever had that, never heard of it before. one year my throat was sore (like a mild case of strep throat type sore) for several months but I didn't have any sickness according to doctors. maybe it was the tonsil stones? i don't remember coughing up any white things though.

that would be it. its not like this is a sicneess. you dont really have any symptoms, its just a build up in the tonsils, thats it, nothing else happens.

Its basically like boogers, your nose hairs work to keep stuff from entering your body, and stuff builds up and turns into boogers. Your tonsils basically do the same thing, and when the stuff builds up, you get little white crap

Doctors suck, you would think they would have been able to tell me about this tonsil stones thing...

yeah but you just said you never had them. Theres plenty of diseases, im sure, that I dont have that the doctors never tell me about, because what Kind of Doctor would that be, you go in for a check up and hes like "Yeah, you hear about this new cancer that when you get it, you have like 2 weeks to live or so? Well you dont have it, but still man, its out there"

Especially the things you've never had. So incompetent.

I've been told I had pink eye by one doctor. Another doctor said I didn't. So yes I have been told I have something I don't have. ever heard of other people being misdiagnosed? it's not hard to find such cases on the internet. yes, it is possible to be diagnosed with things you don't/never had. So naive and ignorant, good try, better luck next time...

tonsil stones isnt something you want to be diagnosed with by a doctor because they make it out to be a bigger deal and how you need to pay some prescription to get rid of them, when really, gargling listerine or peroxide does the same thing.

Want to know if you have them or not? Have you ever had to haulk up something from the back of your throat that is just a little white speck that looks like old food? Then you have them.

If you dont have tonsils, you cant get them

hey, I have had those. I always assume they are like some bone from a low quality beef patty or something. I wonder where that crap goes if you don't have tonsils.

You miss the point -- again. You yourself said that you have never had tonsil stones and you were upset at the medical profession for never telling you about something that you've never had. Now, however, you are convinced that you did have the throat boogers once because some guy on an internet sports message board told you so and you're even more angry at your doctor for not treating you for something that is, in fact, not a disease.

If you don't understand the concept of misdiagnosed (and no I am not saying for a fact that I was misdiagnosed), then there's no point in arguing with someone so naive...

Unbelievable. How do you not understand this? It is not a misdiagnosis if the doctor fails to inform you of a medical condition that you Do. Not. Have., particularly if that medical condition is not a condition at all. Again, throat boogers IS NOT A DISEASE!!!

Your throat doesn't hurt for several months straight without there being some sort of problem. My throat hurt from about mid-November to sometime in April. I find it hard to believe there wasn't a single diagnosable thing to explain why my throat was hurting for such an extended period of time. when at times it makes it even difficult to breathe, there is something wrong there - rather it be tonsil stones or not, there was something awry.

Just for kicks, I looked up the definition of your new favorite word, "naive".
Na-ive

- adjective

having or showing a lack of experience, judgment, or information; credulous:
EXAMPLE: He's so naive that he looks for answers to all his medical questions in online sports forums which might explain why he got that weird pinkeye diagnosis for a sore throat.
I'm not going to play MD for you. Go see a real doctor and not the ganja merchant from across the quad.

Last time I asked, the Blue Ridge place (the doctor I usually go to unless it's something urgent and another doctor is closer) on Lakeside Drive came highly recommended from co-workers and friends.

PS, never got a pinkeye diagnosis for a sore throat and never said I did. Clearly indicates your lack of reading comprehension skills - I'm sure LU has some reading specialists or knows of ones they can recommend to you. Sylvan Learning Center is located on Timberlake, might want to check them out. There's also hooked on phonics - I hear they do a good job.

Never believe what people in paper hats tell you. If they couldn't work their way up past being third assistant fry manager, their medical endorsements should be considered suspect.
