I am sure someone will disagree but if you just try to listen to ESPN Radio in the afternoon here its awful, i have to listen to this waste of space. I mean its honestly a joke that is guy is employed by ESPN with his side kick ( who i swear admits to almost daily hangovers, sounds high and has admittedly NO CLUE about sports) who can't even play a background music at a decent level. I would just love to get him and Cowherd in the same room, since Roberts doesn't understand what an orginal thought is or was maybe in his youth. Maybe then he would realize what an imbarrasment it is to talk about his Rabbits and how they are fighting at home???? I mean this guy puts more work into promoting his sponsors then he does into actually talking (intelligently) about sports. He doesn't firm on anything he says and can't even read a baseball score without studdering through trying to contimplate a box score. I just wish they would bag his show and give me Eric Kasillias ( sp ?)!

Roberts is one of those guys who's only good for 5 minutes at a stretch. His sports updates on 96.3 are all right but they're also pretty short. I just can't listen to strident personalities for extended periods of time and that includes our recent commencement speaker Sean Hannity. (Why, oh why, did WLNI give him that 3rd hour!?)

"gobbler greg" as UVA fans know him as. he is a hoker lover from birth, talks trash against UVA any any other team the hokies play...he is employed by VT. he could not hack it at WSLS, so now he has his horrible radio show. he even tried his luck at a sports bar in roanoke, and that failed too. i hit up prime time with the packman in charlotte on the net. very good show and very funny too.

AHH yes Greg Roberts... the man is horrible... but the reason why he plugs those sponsors so much is because that's where his paycheck is coming from... he is not making a dime off that show only the advertising..... And as for why WLNI gave Sean his 3rd hour you will know the real reason here in a few weeks....let's put it this way things are going expanding

Greg does a much better job during HS Football season. He really builds up the local (meaning ROANOKE) sports. I do prefer the SportsBash, though. Again, I say: XM. Radio.

Still, I like the humor Rich and Larry bring to the SportsLine. Guess they will be able to really rip into UVA now that they are the cHokie station in the area.

I think we can all agree here that Clark Howard needs a 3rd hour and Hannity did not. Clark saves me money and makes me a smart consumer, Hannity is interesting for 15 minutes and then he's unbearable.

colin cowherd= TOOL. i like fox sports. steve czban, out of bounds with craig shemon and james washington. then at noon its all about jim rome til 3, then i listen to primetime with the packman after 3 on a charlotte radio station on the net. kuselius on ESPN is pretty good though, as are the weekend shows.

I'll second that. I can't wait to hear what that doornob talks about this year during college football since his precious USC won't be as good. I dont think cowherd really knows anything about sports besides college football.

You answered your own question......whether USC is good or not, Colin knows plenty about College Football. Sorry i gotta give the guy credit all these rips on UVA football ( i don't pull for any virginia team for the record ) have really been funny and a laugh in my day. Plus the call from TITO yesterday had my laughing pretty hard as well.

Can someone find out what kind of ratings Roberts is getting? I mean once a month he takes time to thank all his listeners and go on about how we must really like him . Someone has got to be able to track down those stats, plus overall maybe how the rest of Mike & Mike, Dan Patrick, The Herd, Eric Kasillius as well.

to be clear i did not like cowherd before he started ripping UVA, and now that he is doing that it makes it real easy to hate on him now. his overall knowledge of sports is awful, but at times he has his moments of being funny.

Right, my point was I can't stand that obvioulsy being his favorite team. The guy has such a west coast bias just because that's where he's from and he's trying to counter the east coast bias everybody else has. It gets old. Outside of college football, he just seems to be completely wrong about 70% of the time. Does the guy even watch sports?

Even though I am a media guy I don't listen to any sports talk radio believe it or not. I watch Mike and Mike in the morning on ESPN 2 when I get up before work and I like those guys. I have listened to Tony Kornheiser once on my way back from Northern VA. Greg Roberts was ok on WSLS. Is he not on there anymore? I did a radio show a couple of times up in NOVA in conjunction with my talk show but I hated doing the radio side of the show and pulled out of it when I moved to Lynchburg. I enjoy GMTM and Nic Pierce on Saturday mornings especially when they have me on as a guest or when Medic and Sly call in.

Now to the Herd, I was out in L.A last year and he is like a God out there, he does a special 1 hour show before his show on ESPN radio which is just heard in So Cal...I don't have a problem with him, I do think he is pretty funny

I hate Jim Rome. I think he's horrible. He thinks he's funny and he's not. He makes up completely stupid nicknames for players (ala Chris Berman) and always calls him that. If anyone is a tool, Jim Rome is. He's garbage.

SJ i know you worship cowherd. anyway, what nicknames does rome give athletes?? i have listened to him for years and the names he says are usually the nicknames the players already have. rome is an acquired taste...he tells everyone that when a new affiliate comes on.

105.9FM... Rome is starting to grow on me here as of late, I used to dispise him, but Rome is burning is changing my opinion about him
