When you have family or friends come into town, where do you suggest they stay?

That place is a dump compared to Hilton....ive worked and stayed at both over the years. The only thing the wingate has better is a pool, thats it.

The HGI is very nice, don't get me wrong, but for the price it's Wingate.

Wingate is the only place I've stayed on this list and it was pretty nice.

Just don't eat in their little restaurant downstairs. I think it might be the most overpriced place to eat in the 'burg.

Extended stay is probably the cheapest, and definitely the closest. My parents always choose sleep in bc its a great price and is always clean and decent. Extended stay was clean, but has the cheapest of everything

For the price it's Courtyard...by a long shot. I'm not sure how many of you have stayed at all three (Hilton, Courtyard and Wingate) but my dad has because he has to travel to Lynchburg several times a year. I've also stayed in the Courtyard and the Wingate, several times.

I think most of you probably are just looking at Wingate from the outside. It is not managed nearly as well in Lynchburg or nationwide. I get could get specific, but suffice it to say the cultural background for most Wingate owners is to Cut Corners to save money. Cheap construction, Cheap Cable TV, Cleaning...etc. Last time my dad stayed at the Lynchburg Wingate they only had like four cable networks on the television.

During Super Conference we used to alwasy see Dr. Falwell having breakfast at the Courtyard. That was pretty cool. Not sure if that was only a Super Conf thing or if he did that regularly.

Last time we stayed there the workers were sniffing paint.

Extended stay is where we stay when coming to homecoming. I like the fact we can just walk over to campus

I stayed there a few weeks ago. The cable is not as great as it is at some hotels, but there were a lot more than 4 cable channels. I’ve never stayed at the Courtyard. How much do their rooms typically run?

I think similar to Wingate in price.

That would be incorrect from my experience....Courtyard is generally has the most expensive rate in town. HGI and Courtyard are 1 and 2 in that respect, and if i recall its at least $20 more a room minumum.

I checked. Its seems Courtyard is 107 dollars, Hilton 114, and Wingate 92 dollars a night. Those are where the prices start.

Well i was close and even those rates are not frozen.....there are different rates for LU, Business, midweek, weekend, holidays etc depending on special events in the area as well.

I think the courtyard is indeed nicer than the wingate...but the wingate is a little less on average. another problem...it seems hard for me to book the courtyard...I've called a month in advance and they say they have no room. Is there somekind of secret thing to say to get a reservation?
