Has anybody been to this store yet. It's weird. They have almost anything you could think of in there, except electronics really, and it all seems to be fairly cheap. I feel the need to buy things when I'm in there.

It's in Candler's station next to the party store. I think it's where Goodies used to be. Unless Goodies is still there. I can't remember if that went out of business or not.

It's like a Rugged Warehouse of stuff that's not clothes. They've got books, DVDs, food, toys, carpet, furniture, cookware, patio furniture, grass seed, cleaners. And it's all like name brand stuff. I think they get like buybacks and closeouts and stuff.

his shop used to be in a huge truck depot. he would buy damaged boxes by the lb and then turn around and sell them. all sorts of stuff.

i've boughted 300 dollar rod and reel combos from him for 15 bucks.

my brother just picked up a set of nike irons with a nike golf bag for 50...brand new.

Ours has an electronics aisle. It's great.

We're in the process of renovating the Youth Room and I just picked up two area rugs to cover the floor for about $50 bucks a pop that would have been over $300 had I bought them from another store.

They also have a deal with Zondervan, so they get a crapload of great books weekly.

most of the stuff in the store seems to be like 30-40% off of what you might find else where, but some stuff is crazy. Like the DVDs are like $3-$5 and they're not all bad movies like you'd expect. And the book section has Hooked on Phonics for $40. That retails for $200 elsewhere.

ask them how they get their stuff.

I was there grand opening weekend...BIG mistake. It was wall to wall and you could barely move through the aisles. Plus, there was quite an interesting variety of Lynchburgers...people missing teeth, others missing articles of clothing...

However, I am sure if it was less crowded and I could have made it past the book/DVD section at the front of the store without feeling like I needed a hot shower and a valium then there would have been some great items...

I was there last Monday, and there was a good crowd, but not too bad. Looks like one of those places where you need to keep checking back because you never know what they might have. The comparison with Rugged Warehouse is good, and it's convenient to have them in the same strip mall so I can check both with one trip. Kind of a "bricks and morter" version of woot or slickdeals. They had the biggest collection of "for dummies" books I've ever seen.

i need to shop THERE! im always down for saving a few hundred bucks on my fishing rods... speaking of which, its about time to replace a couple combos... you know... 7-8 years, several thousand casts and a few hundred fish later, rods & reels do tend to wear out *sigh*

A little of everything.

They had a stack of Velvet Elvis by Bell the other day. It's like any bargain store...you have to sift through the crap but you can find all kinds of good stuff. We use "His Needs, Her Needs" for marriage counseling and I can always find 5-6 copies for about $4.99 a piece.
