I've just started reading this, picked it up from Borders. I think that is probably the best quote I've seen coming out of the book. I didn't expect him to accept Christ as Lord and Savior, but I am glad to see that at least LU challenged his thinking a bit.
That's all it takes sometimes. Get the wheels turning and then eventually it may happen.
exactly. Something ive been learning the last few years is that odds are in ministry, your not going to see alot of people get saved and truly turn their lives around. One thing that kind of annoys me is when churches are like "we had 200 people get saved in church last week" because yes, thats great, thats wonderful, praise the Lord, but honestly how many of them in two weeks or a month have really taken it seriously and arent still doing just the same things with the title christian now. To me, its more the information you give people, the way you live before them. Especially in youth ministry or with people like Kevin.
Like, you give them all the information, over and over again if they need it, but more importantly you live it out. Some day something will happen that will make it all click and Kevin hopefully will remember "Thats why those crazy students raised their hands while singing, and some were so excited to just read their bibles and pray" or thats what they meant about God.
