Can anyone recommend an honest appliance repairman (or give me a hint as to who not to call)? My dryer won't turn on.
The circuit breaker is ok. Life is not worth living without my dryer.

George's on airport rd. I've never had to have anything repaired but I know someone who used them once and I think they were happy with the results.

This is the age of Obama, so transparency is required. I was the "someone" LUconn is referring to. I took my washing machine there, it was pretty cheap to fix. I originally went there and told them the problem, bought the part I needed, and made the repair myself. That repair didn't last long, so I ended up loading up the washing machine in mon frer LUconn's truck and taking it over there. They fixed it. Of course, our washing machine sucks, so it still has problems occasionally.
But if you can get the machine to their location, it's definitely worth it. It always costs quite a bit extra for them to come to your house.

we just bought a washer and dryer...what a nightmare it was trying to find the right one.....apparently, all of them are now made to explode 1 week after your warranty expires.
so i make a decisions based off of user reviews from many sites and consumer reports and the dryer sounds like i'm drying knifes the entire cycle...great....guy coming out today.

I agree but I take reviews like those on amazon and epinion with a grain of salt. I used to base most of my decision off of the reviews but there's always a bunch of people who have problems with everything. I'm pretty sure many reviewers are not aware of how to properly use things that they buy.
Don't buy. Piece of Junk. Washing machine froze after 2 weeks of use! Now how will I clean my bags of cement?

yeah i completely agree. my fahter subscribes to consumer reports so i like using them. the one i bought was a CR best buy. the user reviews had 4 out of 5 stars. out of 31 reviews 5 of them were like "horrible, makes terrible grinding noise" which i assume is what i experienced....the guy i talked to on the phone told me there are times when the cylinder will warp and have the problem.
its still annoying.

I used Accurate Appliance Service once, and they charged an arm and a leg (as well as my first born) to do almost nothing. Don't go with them unless you want to take out a second mortgage to pay for the repairs.

Georges. Also the company that Ferguson (the company that sells the highest end stuff in the Burg) refers people to.
