A Sea Of Red

So I was listening to the radio this morning and one of the talkshow hosts (local) mentioned that her friends daughter was currently attending Radfurd. Well the other 2 co-hosts just started ripping on Radfurd. They went straight to promiscuity and STDs. It was great. So here are some reasons Radfurd sucks:

1. They have one of the goofiest mascots in history


2. I found this picture on google and it's true but not in the way that they meant it


3. Their football team


4. They play basketball in a giant circus tent.


5. Their trophy case


6. Cheerleaders with 6 packs... on their backs... Luckily no pictures on that one. But I've definatly seen it every time I've been to a game there.

Feel free to add to the list.

In all honesty, if my child ever seriously considered going to Radford, I would consider myself to have failed as a parent.

Where are the rowdies? If Coastal and Winthrop fans can get into it on their boards, why can't we have some rowdies over here to make things extremely interesting? I mean, LU and RU is, traditionally, the biggest Big South rivalry.

They don't have any fans. Can you blame them? There too busy making Genisil commercials.

As for the biggest rivalry. That's debatable. CCU and WU really seem to hate eachother. And back at the turn of the century RU used to choke against WU every year in the championship. So they don't particularly like eachother either. RU and LU certainly are polar opposites though.

Right now the yakking between the Eagles & Chants is fairly entertaining after their hoops run last season. Its tough to talk up two hoops squads both playing poorly lately.

That said, the Rowdies only seem to awake from their stupor during basketball season. Their board is abandoned right now.

The Radford-ragging seems to be a ubiquitous phenomenon. The RU alumni where I work are constantly having to defend themselves at least once a week when college talk comes up in the break rooms--the double speak inevitably invokes the two aforementioned items.

Yeah, but hopefully they can spell Radford, unlike the originator of this little gem of online posting...

If you couldn't tell he spelled it wrong on purpose then you should consider getting help.
