ABC13 Analog or Digital?

So on my tv at home I have cable. At the bottom right of my screen it says "Analog". I am currently watching iptv and it says "Digital". Why is that?

It means you are picking up their analog signal through your cable...
...but IPTV is showing the digital signal.
They are providing this "service" to both annoy us by messing up part of the picture, and to show folks which signal they are receiving. Both logos will go away when they go all digital in Feb.

So your saying that it is irrelevant anyway!

Not totally irrelevant. Those folks with analog TV that use an antenna are still going to get a new TV or buy one of those $50 converters to get the signal. This is 13's way of letting people know whether or not they already are getting the digital signal.

yeah, there's a huge push by WDBJ and WSET about this. Which basically amounts to them trying to hold a couple of old geezers' hands through the end of the year.

The push is to get the geezers to use their box which will automatically come on to their station when used. There are vouchers to pay for these things.

since i am cheap and kind of poor, we don't have cable...got a voucher to get one of those digital boxes and most of the time I love it...sometimes, not so much...but it makes not having cable a bit easier with the clearer picture

I will be more impressed with 13's efforts when they go HD on their newscasts like 7 and 10.

I won't be happy until I can see every pore on Shane Butler's face.

I HATE that this Saturday, WDBJ is showing the State/Carolina game on WDBJ-DT2. I don't get that channel. On their regular channel, its paid programming & some other stupid shows.
Instead, the Fox station is picking up the Raycom sports game of Clemson/UVA. I understand that, as we are in Va, but why can't both stations carry the games & give viewers a choice. I wanted to DVR it because it comes on at Noon & our game is at 1:00.
Between crap like this & so many problems with HD switches, TV coverage in central VA is "teh suck".
