Presidential politics lead to confrontations at Liberty University

Politics have touched off hard feelings at one local college.

On Tuesday, Liberty University students turned out in record numbers to vote.

It turns out, some on that campus are not happy with the outcome of the presidential race.

LU Chancellor Jerry Falwell Jr. sent out an e-mail to campus Thursday afternoon.

He says there's been "disturbing reports" of students being harassed for their political beliefs.

What no one knows, it was the Obama crowd instigating this. So much for tolerance.

I wondered today why he didnt speak directly to the McCain supporters and the Obama supporters but now it makes sense. I think it would come across as intolerant if he were to speak to them directly even though all of us know that its them in the hall ways yelling how they won which is causing problems.

I will say I've seen stuff from both sides, although the Obama side has been pretty harsh. While many McCain supporters have been saying things that were against Obama's policies, the Obama crowd has been attacking people personally. I don't know how many of my friends have been called racist because they chose to vote for McCain and don't like Obama but it's been quite a few. Also, I hate to be racial, but it's obvious which side of the race line most of this has been coming from.

And Natasha Ryan just came on before CSI saying, "Are there hard feelings at Liberty University? Stay tuned at 11."

i don't know anyone who has instigated anything, but i've had friends called racist just because they had a mccain sticker on their car or something about him on their profile. i also know many people who have been harassed by obama supporters trying to rub it in their face. but again, i don't know of anyone supporting mccain saying anything. why would they? they lost, there's nothing to say

I graduate and all hell breaks lose...crazy kids

I am sure mccain supporters aren't completely innocent in this...there are some pretty ignorant people on that campus that have no idea why they support conservative ideals, aside from the reason its jammed down their throat...but i can only imagine how some of the Obama supporters are acting...because there was always somebody claiming racism over something while I was there...I am sure with this election it got worse
