LU Writers Conference with Jerry Jenkins starts today!

Mrs. Cider is co-chairing this event, so I wanted to make you all aware of it. Jerry Jenkins, of LEFT BEHIND fame, is the keynote speaker and will also be speaking in Convo in a few minutes. The conference runs today and tomorrow, and several LU alumni and faculty are also presenting.

Bill Myers
A national and international award-winning writer and director, Bill Myers is well-known for his McGee and Me book and DVD series, which has sold 4.5 million copies. He writes, directs, and voices characters for Focus on the Family's Adventures in Odyssey radio series. An author for both children and adults, Myers currently has twenty novels under option for motion pictures. His novel, The Wager, starring Randy Travis and based on Myers' novel by the same name, was recently released.
Ha. McGee and Me. Those were terrible.

Great conference! Jerry Jenkins recommended that all writers own a copy of Strunk & White's The Elements of Style, and the LU bookstore actually had almost a dozen copies of it in stock. I bought one and Jerry even autographed it for me. Mrs. Cider got lots of pics with Jerry Jenkins, so look for those to appear later on Facebook.
All the writers were housed in the Mansion over the weekend, and they were really impressed with the Bed & Breakfast atmosphere of the Mansion.
