Okay
Going 90 on that road is NOT reckless if you know what youre doing.
Never done it, because that road has always been notorious for cops. But that road is suitable for 90+ and most people who go 90 are good drivers(interesting thought)

The deputy said he finds many reckless drivers are from Maryland, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
I don't think that surprises anyone.

Anyone going 90 or more mph on the road is stupid. Stop them and lock them up! So much for making curfew

when on the bypass i make sure to set my cruise control, because without that it would be very, very easy to get going too fast without even knowing it...that road is great...the best road in this area....

In the past year I got 2 tickets on that freakin road. Idiot cops chill in between the hills. I'm trying to get home in less then 5 effin hours that's why I'm driving 80 mph. I'm not weaving in between freakin cars. One time at night a truck was behind me for about 15 minutes, just me and the truck. Then randomly the truck turns on the lights and it's an undercover d-----! Are you kidding me, you're gonna follow me in your undercover truck for 15 minutes then get me just when i go 11 over the limit. I can't stand virginia, so many cops. And tickets are double or triple the price than in maryland.

The Nelson County Five-O were the ones who used to give me fits back in the day.

Hey Sweet,
Nice testimony...... Leave a little earlier, obey the speed limit, and quit whining when you get a ticket (or two) that you deserve.

While you might make a good point, it's in pretty poor form to jump on somebody with your first ever post.

It may seem safe to go over 80 on those roads, but what happens if you blow a tire? Take an EMT class, and see some of the pictures...its quite grusome.

Seriously those speeds are not unsafe. Losing your focus will put you in a tree, but good drivers dont do that. Again, going that fast isnt stupid in itself. But we have laws, so may as well just go 9 over and not get a ticket.

Going that fast in the dark isn't unsafe? Are you kidding me? During the day I can think that you're not absolutely crazy because you can actually see things. At night, there's absolutely no way it's safe. During the day, you can see the deer standing on the side of the road. At night, like the article says, you outrun your headlights going that fast.

Yep.
I had to laugh a little at the connection they drew between curfew and the reckless driving. Not because it isn't true, but because it probably is.
Also...
N&A wrote:The county has committed to funding the two new positions for one year on a trial basis. At the end of the year, the sheriff’s office will evaluate the positions to determine if the deputies issued enough citations to pay their salaries, he said.
So slow down for a year, folks. If they can't break even, the unit is disbanded and it's back to the "normal" amount of cops on 29.

Has anyone seen the stats on the Autobahn? Fast speeds can be safe on the right roads.

Does the Autobahn have woods and deer and things like that right next to it?

Going 90 is just as unsafe as going 65 and messing with your cd player. Thats what Im saying.

people are much more dangerous when using cd players, cell phones, ipods, etc. im not advocating going that fast though, esp not at night simply b/c of the deer
