i'm slowly starting to understand the democratic way. its silliness has always baffled me but now i feel i can understand why many of them think they way they do.

my good buddy is a huge democrat who is fully involved in his party. i talked with him and while i think he's still a moron for thinking that way, i can understand why he does.

his thinking - in order for capitalism to work there has to be poor people. and since they have to be poor, the gvt has to make sure that they take care of the poor people of society because they are a basic need of the capitalist system. he is totally for capitalism but the people who get rich off of capitalism are doing so because there are poor people and should therefore have to be willing to help the poor and would probably not do so without gvt intervention.

You guys are acting in a way that lends itself to "the religious right" getting roundly criticized for being intolerant. You are almost acting like the liberal press is acting towards Palin.

Intolerant of what? I don't think that anybody here is suggesting they be disbanded. (my emoticon demonstration was a joke playing off of Jerry's famous words). But we certainly don't have to pretend that their positions are anywhere near correct. Who the arf cares what the media does or thinks.

i dont think that rubbermallet was intolerant at all..just explaining his friend's viewpoint..and really...LUCONN made a little joke..but no big deal. not agreeing with it and thinking it is rediculous isn't being intolerant..its just his opinion.

i think dems, for the most part, have really warped views on...well..pretty much everything. but, they are allowed to think that..and i'm sure they think my views are warped too..so no big deal :)

These are good points. I'll turn in my elephant card ASAP. I mean A.S.A.P. That's an acronym you know.

Technically, the spelling of the word principals was correct, it was just the wrong word in this case.

This is a fallacy considering the "poor" amount of families are at an all time low. They want your money just as much as the jerks getting paid 400 billion to make companies go under.

Oops
Two years removed from journalism classes, and several years of reading GMTM's posts has started to have negative effects on my grammar.
