Why would they use an indoor complex to play Division I soccer games?

It's soccer. You play in everything but lightning.

a lot of fans don't like being in the rain either though.
and i've seen soccer games be delayed due to weather, only on grass fields though. synthetic turf drains a heck of a lot better than grass.

i don't pay one single bit of attention to D1 soccer in the first place. i can't even tell you who won the national championship last year in either men's or women's soccer.

I don't pay attention to international soccer unless it's the world cup or the olympics, and I pay very little attention even to olympic soccer.

In other words you can't name a single one. That's because soccer is an outdoor game.

also, i don't see what is wrong with the concept. football and baseball didn't use to be played in indoor stadiums and now there are quite a few indoor football and baseball stadiums. just because it hasn't been done before doesn't mean it can't or shouldn't be done.

I can't name a single one because I don't pay any attention.

EDIT: found one - arena indios. pictures make it look indoor to me. i couldn't find much on the stadium though.

another picture in addition to the one on wikipedia http://img182.imageshack.us/img182/8213 ... amsbz1.jpg

here's one I know for a fact is indoor: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C5%8Cita_Stadium

sapporo dome: can be indoor or outdoor, see illustration on following webpage for explanation http://www.worldstadiums.com/stadium_me ... dome.shtml

veltins arena: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Veltins-Arena

docklands stadium: retractable roof, designed for aussie rules football but has also been host to futbol matches.

i think most, if not all, of these stadiums are former or future world cup sites.

The noise is what we like to hear at high school football games, but it's also dangerous.

Marching band directors across the country worry about the noise hurting the musicians' ears, especially their drummers.

Experts say that over time the loud music and noises can damage hearing.

On a related note, I have seen a certain music prof. (not Dr. K) carry a noise meter to determine how loud Convo is, and he's not happy with what his little meter is telling him.
