Doing the 10...looking like it could be a bit damp. Shooting for 1:59:59!

I survived and made my goal. I think my final time was in the 1:59:07 neighborhood.

This is a real cool event...streets were lined with people cheering and offering encouragement. The bands along the way nice, as well.

I hope you weren't one of the guys who declined to take a water from my team at the Farm Basket. I wouldn't blame you, though, it was hose water and tasted like plastic, probably had Miracle Grow in it or something.

There was one dude who ran the whole race barefoot.

And one dude who looked like this:

I'm dead serious, I thought only Andy Bernard had such sensative nipples.

That picture looks PAINFUL...

....Which is why I had BAND-AIDS strategically placed.

Yes...I took the Gatorade at every water station.

If you're talking about the tall Kenyan who runs all over town...then yes. I have no idea if he is an LU professor. He TOASTED the field...the group I was in passed him coming back from the other direction at the 3 mile mark...his SEVEN mile mark.

David Cheeromei ran the fastest Virginia 10 Miler time in five years, completing the challenging out and back, down and up course in 49 minutes, 43 seconds, to defend his title in the 35th annual running of the event, Saturday outside E.C. Glass High.

The 29-year-old native of Kenya and graduate assistant track coach at Liberty University pulled away from a pack of close to 1,500 runners after the first 200 meters and won by nearly seven minutes over Ryan Wheeler of Lynchburg, who crossed the finish line in 56:24.

I know I'll be leaving some people out because I don't know everyone at LU, but here are the LU folks I know who ran the 10-miler besides Fumble:

229. Brant Tolsma (LU track coach) 1:23
383. Scott McCurley (LU alum & adjunct prof.) 1:31
599. Greg McCauley (LU alum & former men's BB player & asst. coach) 1:44
637. Sunday Towles (LU alum & wife of LU prof) 1:47

Please add more names for the people I've missed (if McCauley ran it this year, I wonder if SCAR will next year?).

Just take the shirt off!!!! What's better - showing people that you are out of shape, or experiencing pain that no person should endure?
