HUGE Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Event - EFCII - November 8th (2 UFC Fighters will be attending event)

Image

Guys - one of the biggest events is being held November 8th at Heritage High School. Prototype Advertising has partnered with Elite Fighting Challenge (EFC) to bring good MMA fighting events to the East Coast. There won't be any alcohol sold at the event and be family friendly. This might seem odd - but remember there are many children that start training fr MMA at 5 years old now. This event is a sanctioned event and a TV deal is in the works.

EFC 1 was held back in June and had over 1,000 people attend (LU students were gone on break) and this next one is going to awesome. We are investing a lot of money onto the entertainment value and are bringing in two professionals to commentate and hold seminars the day of the event. Marcus Davis, The Irish hand grenade (http://www.ufc.com/MarcusDavis) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hpzMdJOURxg) and Gabrial Gonzaga (http://www.ufc.com/GabrielGonzaga) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OiZ8ZVUUvAo).

I need your help. Can you all get the word out for us. This is a big time event, with big people backing it - like American Standup, Tapout's competitor, and we would love to get a huge crowd from LU. I have attached a poster if anyone would like to print it out and hang it somewhere, i.e. dorms, apartments, community message boards, etc... If you can't do that, please check out our website www.efc2.net (where you can order your tickets in advance :P ) and send people there for us.

Thanks Guys and Gals for helping to get the word out.

There are 3 students from LU fighting at this event - and all three are really good and have been training at RAM (Renaissance Academy of Martial Arts her in Lynchburg). From this fight - 5 or 6 will be seen in the UFC in the next couple of years.

It's not a blood sport anymore where guys are acting barbarians - it's a mix between boxing, wrestling and Karate. There are many rules in place to protect the fighters and MMA has less injuries than football, basketball and hockey per capita.

A lot of the local gyms for kids are now teaching disciplines of MMA rather than your traditional karate.

It's not for everyone, but last year MMA made over 152 million more in PayPerView than boxing. And has quickly passed Boxing in popularity in the US. I never liked it either - until a few years ago one of my friends invited me over to watch an event - after that I was hooked. These guys are athletes, train so hard and have so much more skill than a wrestler or boxer. They have to be good at a lot of different things to excel and for me - it's exciting to watch.

Don't forget to spread the word about EFC2 tomorrow night at 7:30. This will be a fun event and is only $20 at the gate for students. We would love to have you at the event if possible and give us your feedback afterwards. I think everyone would have a lot of fun!!

Thanks for your support!

Just got back from the pre-fight party and setting up Heritage and I'm a believer. The venue is much nicer than I thought. The setup is amazing and we had weigh-ins today...these fighters are the real deal. There are some tough matchups on the card. The Liberty Fighters will have their hands full, but should do well. Matshark is fighting and I'm looking forward to that one - he is a character.

Marcus Davis, UFC2, came in tonight and is a real nice guy. He is doing a MMA siminar at RAM tomorrow morning - will be at the fight and then signing autographs and hanging at the after party at the Hilton.

Like I have said before - this production is going to compete with UFC - even Marcus thought the video work was better:)

Come out and support your Liberty fighters!!!!

Hey if you see a video of Matshark's fight last night, let us know.

His big head just got bigger with all that swelling.

There will be a DVD. I was sitting next to the commentators ( marcus davis ) was doing color. I think the 3rd or 4th fight of the night was one of the best fights ive seen in a long time including PPV UFC fights.

Anyone have a full list of fights and results?

It will be posted on our site soon.

The event went great! Great Turnout and GREAT fights.

Drew won easily and Matshark lost, but almost went the distance. The guy he fought was the energizer bunny and marshark got exhausted and had trouble even getting up:(

Drew looked good - if he works on his skills - he could be really good. Need to get him over to RAM to train.
