I figured it belongs in the Lynchburg Life section since Hanna could affect our game on Saturday...and bring more much needed rain to the area.
(HMO...you might want to put your windshield wipers in the "down" position).

Here is the continually updating track.

Hopefully this won't turn into another Isabel or Fran...Isabel didn't do much to Lynchburg, but everywhere East of LU's mountain lost power for a bit. Fran was just bad for all of VA and NC.

Fran was awesome for me. It was 8th grade. They canceled school for Wednesday on Tuesday afternoon. Wednesday came and it was sunny with a nice breeze all day.

Fran took out power for about 2 days, and school was cancelled for us as well.

Are you trying to upstage LUconn and the Wal-Mart thread? Seems like you should be a LUantic needing this attention from having your own thread

Absolutely not, HMO...I figured an event like this needed its own thread. Feel free to move it to the Run To Wal-Mart thread...it shant offend me.

I agree it looks like this will become a Hurricane

New rule...all hurricanes, tornado's and any other natural disaster are subject to their own thread while others full under quick run to wal-mart!

I think the storms associated with tornadoes still belong in the Wal-Mart thread...otherwise...I second the gentleman's from Rustburg's motion.

The new track looks a lot like Hugo...it accelerated inland and did tremendous damage in the Charlotte area. Definitely looks wet for Friday night football...but better for LU gametime.

Myrtle Beach may be under a mandatory evacuation by Saturday so I don't think it will matter what you can do inside.

Did you mean damage in the Charleston area? Although, it could have done considerable damage to Charlotte as well-I just remember Charleston more clearly.

No...I meant CHARLOTTE! It was still hurricane force that far inland. So many pine trees were blown down in that part of the state that caused a great deal of damage. I moved to the area about 9 months afterwards and trees were still down everywhere.

Hugo & Fran completely ripped us a new one when they came through. Hugo took on Charlotte...Fran took on Raleigh.

Hopefully Hanna won't be as strong that its still hurrican force that far inland...I remember visiting Charleston in June after Hugo ripped through the previous September and they were still clearing debris, etc.

This is interesting it got to the middle of the carribean, turned south, then turned east and has started heading back out towards the ocean, but it is still projected to head up the east coast.
