The good news is, Liberty University (web) is no longer giving students parking tickets. The bad news, they're towing the vehicles instead. The school warned students all last week to park only in the section their decal shows or they'd be towed starting this week. They made good on that threat.

Next week, they are planning on turning up the heat. STICKER CHECK STOPS will be held...with those students (and faculty) who do not have stickers being pretty much forced to get them on the spot.

I want everyone to know about a man named Horace Green. Horace is an awesome guy and you would love him. He has a wife and three kids and loves them all very dearly. He lives in low income housing and has enough trouble providing for his family as it is. Horace is a Tow truck driver for BeeLine Towing the same company that tows LU cars, He may not like his job but it provides for his family and thats all thats important! So I say let your cars get towed, give horace a chance at a better life! Park in Elmer Towns spot and watch him turn Green ans start tearing apart passing students, park in the deans spots and see them Unite and form the Ultra Super Guys team and reign down reps as they fly overhead! Save Horace you guys!

The moral of the story........Cocaines a hell of a drug

Yeah I read all of that. Not sure who is really serious in there but that group is a joke.

On a side note, I could have sworn I saw Ticket Revenue in the books over at LUPD, so not really sure why theyd quit making money

No kidding...when I was with the Transit department the head guy from BeeLine was so freaking nice to me it made me wonder...then I realized he knew that if someone parked in the path of our bus we'd have to tow it...it all made sense 8)

umm, the numbers weren't small. I don't know what you consider impressive, but they were making some cash

Well people felt as if a parking deck could be built by it...I remember when a guy from the Accounting/Finance department met with a facebook group and they told him the same thing about how "LU was making so much money" and he came back with a lot of costs (I honestly forget what he used) to prove that after everything was accounted for it wasnt as big as many would believe

I am sure if it was needed the money from the tickets could be used to build a parking garage...but the reality is there is no need for one...we have plenty of parking..people are just incredibly lazy and love to complain...a garage could be built and there would be a group on facebook complaining about something...its the way it is...

and i find it very entertaining and love reading these things

Well I'm sure they could put the thousands raised towards the bill but that would only cover 1% of the needed funds and 1% is being very generous....

And agreed, LU has several years away from needing a parking garage

i didn't know you were comparing the amount to a parking garage. I'm sure all the money is being used, I didn't say that it wasn't. LU normally doesn't have much trouble spending money. most of the parking garage debate is a bunch of ignorant people who have no idea the costs involved or the current situation numbers just running their mouths trying to complain and act like they know more than JJ, which obviously isn't the case

Sorry but on this one i did the research too.....i took random days and drove around campus more than a few years ago and counted tickets....this is back in 2002 probably granted....but 250+ tickets in a few hours at between 25-50 a ticket is making serious $$$$.

that seems to be a problem at a lot of campuses. there is enough parking for everyone, but people complain all the time because the parking isn't convenient enough for them!
