Block Party

Why does everyone get so excited about this? I'm not saying it's not a good event to have, I just don't understand why it's such a huge deal to some people. Maybe it's just because I don't like the bands playing, or seeing thousands of kids trying to impress other people and show off how cool they are, but it just doesn't seem like that big of a deal to me.
Someone give me a reason why I'm wrong. Please.

Because we don't have a ski slope yet.

How is this block party specific? That's just how things are here.

Super, it's probably fun for the freshmen and the 18-19 year olds, but you're in grad school now, so your fun times should be spent in the library.

It certainly is LOUD ENOUGH. I live in the neighborhood behind Target and the noise is quite annoying (not to mention bothering my dog, as well)

Oh, it's no different than other places, it's just more condensed.

I think the last LU Block Party I went to was the Switchfoot one.

that was the first one i've spent more than 5 minutes at. it was ok, I thought it felt like a grocery store parking lot carnival minus the cheesy lights
on a side note, there were a lot of creepy people there. evidently all the weird people in lynchburg thought this event would be a good place to stalk hot LU girls

Id probably agree with you on that JDUB. you can see some real strange people at large events like block party. hopefully we dont have any horror stories before the semester is out.

When I was there Papa Johns had stacks of Free Pizza coupons they were giving out. Great marketing idea until students grabbed stacks at a time.
