I was an ElEd Major and there is absolutely nothing "cupcake" about it. The semester I took Curriculum I went on a Marriage Retreat and took my laptop and books with me (on second thought maybe if I hadn't I would still be married) anyway. Yes, the intro classes are EASY, but once you get into the real ed classes there is a ton of work and man hours put into them. My first student teaching placement was in a Kindergarten class. I would come home, barely make it to the sofa, and pass out for a few hours before I could even move again. I understand some of the Ed classes have been reduced in their coursework so they might be a little easier now.

You want to talk cupcake: Youth and I-can't-make-up-my-mind-so-I-will-be-a-Psychology majors is where it is at!

Were you at a school where it was accredited by NAASM? No, you were at LC, who is not accredited. Good job, shuk. You're dumb.

Speak for yourself. Youth isn't the walk in the park some make it out to be. Programming, Bible 350, Church History and the upper level theology courses aren't not easy. I don't recall those who took Greek being too fond of it, either. Of course, maybe it's just me. Oh. And then there's that pesky internship, too. Oh and let's not forget that for whatever "ease" youth majors may have had in college, they certainly can't plan on seeing financial return from their degree, either. So cut them some slack.

Unless you graduated with a degree in Math, Chemistry, CompSci or Nursing it seems silly to me to complain about your major being hard. Most majors are relatively "cupcake" by comparison.

Besides, how in the world has everyone been venting on cupcake majors without mentioning Coms yet? Those were the people with too much time on their hands when I was in school.

Several years ago (before the current youth admins/faculty), their department used to advertise that their youth graduates made more money coming out of college than any other major at LU. I never, ever understood that line of reasoning.

I agree that Youth majors don't get financial return on their degree, but let's face it who does these days?

The athletic training degree program requires the students to have close to 1500 hours of clinical experience spread out over 6 semesters...they get 2 credits per semester for it...
(just wanted to put my two cents in).

If only the school of engineering existed when I came to LU. Ah, what could have been.

It's never too late, Scorcho. I finished a doctorate at 32 and a second master's at 42. Go for it! Study

Are they offering graduate level engineering courses? I was under the impression that it was going to be undergrad only at the start.

How do you even know who Shuk is if you're not him? You only appeared a few weeks after he'd been banned. Neither were from Liberty, both worked in the SID departments at lower level schools, both were negative to LU, both thought men's lacrosse was better than women's lacrosse, and both brought up the point that the porn industry will decided HD DVD or Blu-Ray.

You're shuk.

1) How do you even know who Shuk is if you're not him?
I don't know who shuk is. if i knew who he was i wouldn't be saying i didn't know who he was.

1) You only appeared a few weeks after he'd been banned.
So what? People aren't allowed to join this board after someone else is banned?

2) Neither were from Liberty.
Over 99.9% of the world didn't go to Liberty, how's that make me someone else who got banned?

3) both worked in the SID departments at lower level schools
A lot of people have worked in SID department at lower level schools. There are hundreds of D2 schools, theres more D3 than D1 schools, and there are quite a handful of NAIA schools. the chances of finding someone working at a lower level SID department are more than that of D1.

4) both were negative to LU
I wasn't negative until you started running your mouth.

5) both thought men's lacrosse was better than women's lacrosse
your point is? most people who like sports prefer the men's version over the women's version

6) both brought up the point that the porn industry will decided HD DVD or Blu-Ray.
I couldn't find any posts by this shuk guy mentioning pornography in regards to hd dvd and bluray.
http://www.flamefans.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=6561 theres the thread where i mention the porn industry. there is no person with a username of shuk posting in that thread

Nice try, stupid.

oh ok. i'll do my best to ignore the accusations then. thanks for that little tidbit. i don't intend to insult Liberty (which apparently SJ thinks I have), I'm just skeptical at this point in the season about the basketball team considering there's a new coach, their two best guards from last year are gone, and the fact that this team is pretty much the guys randy dunton brought it and dunton sucked. heck, even when Kentucky was ranked #22 (and BEFORE the gardner webb loss) I thought UK was overrated. i want the basketball team, since this is a bball thread, to be good because there isn't any good men's bball around here unless you want to count high school, and Lynchburg high school hoops is nothing compared to back home in kentucky, or in northern virginia, va beach/norfolk area, and parts of NC.
