Cool. Where's your church? We will be church hunting when we arrive.

She's hoping to put food service behind her. We don't need the money so she can be picky for awhile until she finds the right fit.

I figured...I meant for your daily goings on. restaurants to go out to, you have Kroger and I think Food Lion for your shopping needs, you have the Putt Putt for family entertainment and Arthur's Flower Cart (finest florist in the area IMO) if you want to surprise the Mrs on your way home (or if you get in trouble) or even Petopia (unless they dont allow pets there) .

I am guessing from your posts that you are constantly getting in trouble with your significant other? :D

I can't think of anytime I have gotten "I'm sorry" flowers for my wife. Typically we don't get to the point where flowers would ever be needed.

Not really since we've been married actually. I did get her some for Valentine's Day after a pretty miserable anniversary last February (course I also gave her a ring that day and asked her to marry me)

Living Word Baptist Church, about a half mile down Waterlick from your apartment.

BJ has really been confusing me lately. Does that mean I'm getting smarter or dumber?

When you get into Virginia, DON'T take 501 South to get to Lynchburg: it's looks more direct but it's a bad, winding mountain road for moving trucks. Instead, I prefer I-64 East to 220 South in Clifton Forge (2nd exit) to 460 West in Roanoke.

If you'll be on or near Timberlake and you want a true taste of the South, go to BOJANGLES for your first meal--chicken, biscuits, dirty rice, sweet tea, and a sweet potato turnover for dessert.
Or, skip the turnover and find one of a dozen frozen yougurt shops in town, the closest probably being Bloop in Wynhurst.

I disagree take 64 into Lexington/Buena Vista . You will have 6 miles of winding roads later but are fine. What you DONT want to do is take 501 when it splits right at the bottom of the mountain because that is crazy. Just keep going and you will end up in a place called Madison Heights. From there you are good to go on 29 South.
BTW, 2 houses just went up for sale in our area and a 3rd could be had for a song. If you want to live where the real folks do you should check it out

I can see those with WV ties chiming in with their versions of best path to he 'burg, so why not me. I take the split and cross the bridge, Purple. Quickest route. Though as previously mentioned, YR, if you're driving your own truck Cider's route is easiest, though longest. Purple's is okay. The winding isn't that much. My route is the quickest to the center of town, but the windiest.

As far as restaurants, my favorite is Colonial (south of town on 29), which just reopened under new mgmt. I'm also very happy that Dickie's BBQ near campus reopened. Arrosto is good (disclaimer: I have family that indirectly works there.) I enjoy Napoli's in Rustburg for quality, low-priced Italian. And though many will disagree with me, I grew up on El Cabrito's for Mexican, and I still like it.

You're sooo on crack! It's about the same distance to downtown. My way has fewer windies and you take 29B right into downtown. Your way has more windies and a stop to use the car sick bag!

Cheesy all the way and a coke is the only way to have a first meal in Lynchburg. Don't have two or it will be your last meal in Lynchburg.

Don't forget to order a bowl of chili.
