According to the LU splash page, the bridge opened today. I purposely drove past there at 4:05 to count the number of students on the bridge. At 4:05, exactly zero traffic on the bridge.

I wouldn't expect many students to use it until after the tunnel is completed.

So students are still darting across the street despite the school's best efforts (fence, signs, tunnel, bridge, sidewalks). But it looks like the big guns are being brought out in the form of a fence in the middle of the Wards Rd median. If that doesn't finally do the trick, I assume electrification is on the table.

Great, now Wards is going to look like New Jersey. What's next, no left-hand turns?

Tripwires and trapdoors would also be entertaining. While we're on the topic, whose idea was it to make the pedestrian sidewalk all wavy? Does that discourage bikes or something?

I was thinking more like Greensboro. I just saw posts being put in last night, but they were black so I think it's going to look like the fencing up by the railroad tracks, so at least it's not chain link. At least I don't think it is.

Are all going to be that way or was that done just by that one development? You know that development that has a yogurt shop in it;)

DONT FORGET THE MUCH NEEDED MATTRESS STORE. WHERE ELSE WOULD WE GET MATTRESSES? The other 5 stores that sell mattresses on that street just wasn't enough to serve the city's thirst for mattresses.

Hey, everyone needs one and Sleepy's is a big name in that industry. I'm sure the developers love to have a very stable store who requires a lot of square footage;)

The story will be what is coming to the other end of that plaza;) Not breaking it here, but it will be a nice addition to that plaza and make it the number 1 "go-to" strip center on Wards. People are just going to have to learn that there is plenty of parking behind the strip!!! You don't have to park in front every time... ;)

They need to finish the sidewalks first!! This must be a priority.

That was probably Joan Foster's doing. She wants to get everyone to walk more, therefore make the walk all curvy.

I saw them working in there tonight. Looks almost done. It looks like some type of restaurant with a smaller type dining room. Like Quiznos size, although obviously not a Quiznos since they're all going out of business. But about that size. No sign up though. What is it? You've kept it from us long enough.

Proto: Have you ever eaten at a Noodles & Co? If one were to be built, THAT would be my "go to" place in Lynchburg.

Yuck. I'd rather have a Chop't or Cereal Bar!
