Bojangles is within walking distance of my house on 221. In fact, that's where I threw a rod in my Jeep last summer as my Jeep crawled into the Bojangles parking lot.

Careful there, Cider. Some clever text editing & someone could come up with some funny situations. The next thing you know....BOOM...it's someone's signature. 8)

I've had good experiences every time there except for once. I loved the place though.

If I want to eat half a sandwich and a tiny bowl of thin soup, I'll hit up my local homeless shelter rather than pay 7 bucks just because they use fancy bread. I swear, it's like they charge you 50 cents for everytime they use the word "ciabatta" on the menu.
I hate fancy bread as well.

And Panera is way over rated. Olive Garden is pre-packaged crap. Fast food in a fancy environment. Neighbor's Place is pretty good. Don't know why that would be a chick restaurant.

Nothing wrong w/ their burgers. Just order the little ones and don't eat all the fries. If you eat the regular size burgers and finish all the fries (3 servings) than yes, it probably is a heart attack. I can't speak for the one in Lynchburg, but the 5 guys in my town is fantastic.

I admit that 5 Guys has now become a regular stop when the Sly family slides through the 'Burg.

Since we are bringing grease into the picture, how about a Cheesy Western, HMO?

We just got a Panera Bread in my town. I went there twice this week. I did say it was overrated but I had only eaten there one time. I probably wouldn't have gone back but my town doesn't have many quality restaurants. I am glad I gave Panera another try.

Still not a fan of Fancy spicy breads like cibatta, but their wheat and whole grain bread is great. Prices are high, but you are getting quality food and I think the portions are average, not necessarily small. Just order the full size sandwich if you want more food.

It does appear to draw 2 to 3 times as many women as men, although that is anecdotal evidence and its fine with me since I am single.

I like to eat healthy so Panera is a big plus.

I got the Philly steak sub with extra meat yesterday at Jersey Mike's and it may be the best sandwich I've ever had.

Second Garden Deli. Also Hurricane Cafe on Boonsboro in the shopping center with Starbucks and Phila Deli. Good burgers and Grouper sandwich. Often crowded at lunch.

I went there today at 10:30 to beat the rush and had the same Philly cheese steak sub. Best Philly sub ever.

Is it worth driving 19 miles? Closest one to me is Charles Town WVA.

Seriously. That's like adding a 40 minute wait and $7 to the bill (driving time and gas)

Absolutely--as long as you get a foot long. I'd drive through 19 miles of back roads, dueling banjos West Virginia to eat at Jersy Mike's. :nod

Eat a hot sub there, and then get a cold one to take with you on the road. Their sweet tea is even delicious--they must have had someone for Carolina or Tennessee show them how to make it.

(of course, I'd also drive that distance to eat at Bojangles or drop a 10-spot for a bottle of Japanese Cucumber Pepsi).

I am going to give a shout out to a nice out of the way place to eat. Hey it is in the PLAZA, so by definition it IS out of the way! It is Merridiths (Pronounced Merita's) They have a lunch buffet every day and you will not go away hungry. All the food is home made and it is in a nice setting. And for those of you wanting to tie the knot it has a great meeting area. She also caters. For a romantic dinner it is open on Fri and Sat nites and has some nice music and a RUMOR of dancing. The food is outstanding and trust me I KNOW food!
It is in the Plaza between the Rent A center place and A and N

Next time, go with the Big Kahuna.....all you want in a Philly, plus mushrooms, jalapeños and extra cheese!

Oh, & the Chipotle Cheese Steak....Grilled onions, peppers, chipotle mayo...that's tasty.

I was in Charlottesville today and ate at the Jersey Mike's. I wasn't impressed----at all. It was a pretty ordinary steak and cheese. I mean was it better than subway....yeah...but I've had much better steak and cheese subs. When I was in Lynchburg in the late 90's early 2000's the Steak and Pot. Co. at the mall had a good Chicken Philly. Much better than the steak and cheese I had today.

I will say this. Jersey Mike's is the Polar Opposite of Panera Bread. Almost everyone eating in there was a 30-50 year old guy who was a little over weight. Most of them were blue collar types.

My main problem was with the sub roll. It was really blah. It tasted cheap. I wouldn't eat the steak and cheese again.
