Smoothie, I didn't have you as a crate and barrel guy The one in Tyson's Corner is pricy and Snooty as well but I have been there a few times. I don't think we have ever bought anything from there though
Come on, don't lie, we all know that Mrs. SCAR dresses you. You don't even leave the house, do you?
Watch it TDD, those comments can get you on people's ____ list just ask the Medic

It wasn't meant in a bad light. We know SCAR isn't capable of dressing himself.

shukcb04 wrote:I have been outside the hill City, quite a lot actually, especially since i traveled with the men's bball and men's lacrosse teams at LC. but i'm fine with Lynchburg, sure it isn't a thriving metropolis like NYC, but it's good enough for me. we got an arby's, a chic-fil-a, a little caesar's, and a golden corral, so i'm basically satisfied with the restaurant's around here lol. i only eat out once a month, if that, so restaurants aren't that big of a deal as far as i'm concerned. besides, i'll basically be forced to leave Lynchburg considering my career path in sports information - unless I work in the sports info department at LC or RC (which is only affordable if i'm the head SID) or LU (and I don't want to work at the D1 level unless I have to and I don't really want to work at Liberty to begin with).

i just checked out that list of higher end stores. i guess i'm not preppy enough or rich enough for these places.
In Raleigh, they tore down the old, crappy indoor North Hills Mall & built a new outdoor shopping center. It contains a new theater, many eateries, & shops, etc... It's all about entertainment, now. You don't go there just to shop, you make a night of it. My wife & I love going there when we visit NC.

Those higher end stores run nice sales. At GAP in Raleigh last month, I got a $70 pair of khakis for $14. Just go to the sale racks.

Good point about the movie theatre. Short Pump has a large one and there are a few other large theatres around as well. Lynchburg is in dyer need of a good 1st run movie house.

that's already on the way at lakeside. The one by the plaza is decent for a nonstadium type. They just dont sent any good movies there for some reason.

They need a centralized one at the shopping center. It needs to play movies in the new digital format.

Here is a map of North Hills. I cropped it some, but you can see where the theater is & all the surrounding food & shops. It's outdoors, but also two levels. It makes for a nice time. Eat at the Fox & Hound, turn the corner & catch a movie, walk over & have something from Ben & Jerry's or Starbucks, & never have to move your car.

you know what would be sweet for Lynchburg: one of those gigantic outlet malls with the "name brand" shops. i got a pair of wireless headphones at a sony store in one of those malls for like 10 dollars. that's borderline stealing just about. also got some sort of little christmas ornamanet for $2 for my mom at some country store in an outlet mall and that put me on her good side for about 2 years right there lol.

Those are really good too. I used to live within sight of the Leesburg Corner Outlet malls in Northern VA but my buddies always wanted to drive up to Hagarstown MD about another 1 and a half away to go to the Nike Outlets. I just went to the Leesburg one recently actually. I don't go to a lot of the stores but it is a pretty neat thing to have.

yeah, outlet malls actually make it reasonably affordable to purchase overpriced brand name shirts like A&F or abercrombie for example.

The Carolina Premium Outlets in Smithfield, NC. Exit 95 off I-95. They have just about everything. It takes about 3 hours to get there from Lynchburg.

The 'Best Instrument Store' thread got me thinking that it would be nice to have something like Guitar Center at the new mall. The sales associates can be annoying, but they stock a lot of musical equipment at relatively low prices. They could introduce some serious competition to the local musical equipment market, if you can call it that.

The Guitar Center we have here in Richmond is in the next building over from Sam Ash. You can park in one spot...and visit both.
