My mom and I found this real nice burger place called Backyard Burgers in Chesapeake not far from our rental house (our house is being renovated). Are there any in the Lynchburg area?

Backyard Burgers is a big chain in the midwest. They use some type of seasoning on the burgers that make them well above average.

Not saying you're wrong Sly, but I've never heard of Backyard Burgers being too popular around that area. I could be wrong, I think it might have happened once, a real long time ago.

I'm not in KC near as much these days as I was when I was covering the Big XII, but I still see Backyard Burgers all over Little Rock & Memphis when I'm driving up north.

After reviewing the website, I guess they are based in Memphis. I must've been mistaken. But they have quite a few locations in the KC area particularly on the Kansas side of the border.

There are two locations in Virginia including one in Danville:

I'm not saying backyard is the second coming of burger greatness, but its not bad. Apparently someone in Southern Virginia sacked up to pay the franchise fees.

As for Five Guys, I'm still in the SJ camp that hasn't had the pleasure.

We're starting to get work in Virginia so I can afford my own food. We're not getting any work in Lynchburg yet, but we've got a couple in southern VA so far (the counties that border me).

You're full of crap. I don't owe you for any meals. A movie, yes, but I've always paid for my food.

Eight bucks probably won't even pay for one of SJ's snacks!

A dollar pays for my snacks. That's the great thing about KFC and Wendy's.

We have Red Robins all over down here in Texas. Not bad all things considered.

I think Five Guys has the best burgers in the 'burg. Would be nice to see a Red Robin pop up in the new developments. Weenie Stand is a great deal for the money, and Myrtz makes a mean patty melt.
