Honestly, I didn't mind the portion size. It was paying $5 for that. They drop that to $2, & there's no problem.

Okay....try to understand. I only bought it once. There were no pre-buy inspections to be made. It wasn't sitting behind the counter like a cherry turnover at Arby's. There wasn't a picture I could point to or a number to order by.

Ordered it, paid for it, received it 5 mins later, immediately said never again for that price.

An interesting article on the restaurant industry, and considering Stikfire's prices v. portions, probably a factor in why it failed in Lynchburg:

We still go out to eat about twice a week for dinner but certainly choose different places than we used to. We used to go to highend very restaurant of the year kinds of places. Now retirement is getting very close and we have tried to save much more and spend less. That means lot's more ethnic food and we are lucky to live where there is a tremendous amount great Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, Filipino and Middle Eastern restaurants. All offer very tasty entrees for under $10 so you can have a full meal for two for $40 all in. The $200 dinners are now reserved for vacations and such a few times a year. Actually I prefer the great ethnic foods over fancy food even without the cost considerations. I see the ethnic segment growing while the gourmet places are really hurting. I get emails all the time begging me to come back for some special theme dinner night and such.

I am with you, badger74. Then again, I consider TexMex & Texan barbecue to be ethnic (Tejanos & Cowboys are ethnicities too, are they not?).
