she also told a friend of mine's class that there was a special place in hell reserved for those that abuse animals. not sure that it's biblical, but im sure its very appealing to animal lovers. certainly an odd thing to say. i remember very clearly my friend telling me that and me going... what?!

Came across an interesting interview Kevin conducted on 2/24 with a "Steve Buchanan" (LU student- JR philosophy major) who says he's becoming an agnostic thanks to his Liberty education.

here's a few pearls of wisdom from Steve.
The real doubts about my faith began after the end of my first semester there. There was no eureka moment or sudden realization or anything like that. Doubts about the plausibility of Evangelical teaching (especially on creationism) and on the validity of the Old Testament began the downward spiral.

Steve on the Bible:
Q: Your least favorite thing?

A: In all classes the infallibility of the Protestant Bible is taken as a given fact, as something that is self-evident.
Steve on LU academics:
If you’re looking to be challenged academically or want to learn the wild diversity of alternative human thought on its own merits, don’t come here. U.S. News & World report ranks Liberty as a Tier 4 school (the lowest quality). Your undergraduate years are a critically important time for personal development in all areas of life. Liberty will stunt your growth, I strongly believe that.
Steve on prayer:
My personal prayer life is now mainly centered on quiet meditation, sometimes consciously reflecting on the meaning of dreams or religious issues. At other times I empty my mind of all content, save a sensation of calm. I consider this a form of prayer that has been rather neglected by the Semitic traditions. I do practice prayer as it is usually viewed in the West, though I often recall Kierkegaard’s famous quote: “Prayer does not change God, but it changes him who prays.” Whether or not my prayers for the health of family and friends are heard, I don’t know.

That seems to directly contradict Kevin's academic experience. With 10,000+ students, I'm not surprised a few occasionally fall out of the faith like that.

I need to just read this book. The guy above seems like hes just ticked Kevin stole his idea for a book. If he doesnt believe in God anymore, why would he study Philosophy from a christian point of view.

As far as the author, I cant quite gauge him. I went to his blog and sometimes it seems like he agrees with christians and others not so much.

I'm trying to see if I can get a review copy, but I won't be paying money for a copy.

Out of principle, you should use inter-library loan or wait for the ebook.

I love the inter-library loan program. While taking a couple of Liberty's MBA courses, I never once had to pay for a book, they are all available at other libraries.

I'll buy it, since I've got a ton of money b/c LU athletics pays for my MBA books :D

East Campus seemed liked we were being realigned every other year....but I walked through the Hill today, and it was a male dorm.

It's been both (but not at the same time), and it was even my office for 9 years (long story).
