It's Romans 13:1
"Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God."

I dont remember the speaker's name, but some points I found to be a little bit stretched logically. He also talked like John Madden. Either way, I feel bad for Kaine as he got his 5 min of fame then had to sit there and get torn apart.

Bob, this is what he said about convo

Also you may want to say what version of the Bible you were using...b/c let's be honest, if they are Dem's they are reading a different version then we have! 8)

I know a couple of conservatives at Colorado, so the tide at that school is clearly changing to republican now right? I mean there is now 1 republican for every 500 democrats. WOW!
Are you counting yourself? Go Buffs!
No, I go to LU. Alot of my friends from home go to Colorado though. They are in the college republicans group, and they say theres less than 25 members, and other than the four friends who are all white, the rest of the group is international students from asia?

Jerry would probably support that Democratic who spoke at the republican convent in 2004 againist John Kerry. He was governor of Ga before becoming a US senator for one term. I cannot remember his name, but if he ever ran for President I would have voted for him.

HELLO!!! We invited him here, knowing what his message was going to be.

If we invited an athiest to come speak and he brought up athiesm is that disrespectful? NO, unless it violated some type of agreement or discussion they may have had over what he could talk about.

I'm with you schfourteen. I definitely don't think that coming to LU after invited is in anyway disrespectful. Come on jdub...you just wanted an excuse for booing to be justified and i'm sorry, but i don't think you'll find one..especially if you use this reasoning.

it doesn't matter Kaine got embarressed big time today. his speech wasn't very good, then he decided to stay for Congressman McEwen, who was 100x better than Kaine. I loved watching Kaine sit there and squirm all uncomfortably and not clap, and then at the end he was like the last one to stand up.

they couldn't have chosen a better follow up to kaine, but the funny thing is the Congressman has been on the schedule a long time and Kaine was just added recently

no. you didnt understand what i was saying. i didn't boo because Kaine was very respectful today. I was saying that if an obama rally started then i would boo. anyone who was around Doc knows that there are ways to disagree respectfully, and as long as it stays that way i'm cool with it. I was hearing that obama people were going to be obnoxious today and that is what I was going to boo if he started that junk but he didn't.

@justagirl.. way to create motive and intent when you have no idea where i was coming from. go back to defending your dad and quit putting words in my mouth

I'm sorry but 1. Didn't England intelligence give us that "false information" and 2. Hussein had huge amounts of WMD's. You aren't naive to think he simply destroyed them when the UN teams was in there.? We have found huge piles of munitions albeit not WMD's but isn't a little to soon to say they aren't there and considering the sheer size of the area we are looking at?

I would agree with that statement. The President can only do so much, alot of what is done is a result of the people around him, which still comes back on him, but he just chose the people he appointed and his advisers very poorly

JDUB, I don't know you at all, but from reading on here you come off as a jerk! Its okay for YOU to disagree with others, but as soon as someone disagrees with you you get all personal about it, and bring up stuff that has NOTHING to do with this thread, just to get in your low blow...seriously....

sorry if i offended justagirl, i just don't like it when people tell me what i was thinking and why i do something or say something. if i needed that i'd call a psychiatrist.

fan00, thanks for YOUR 2 cents. i'm FINE with people disagreeing with ME if they have a good reason, but don't come on here and say that all i want to do is justify booing and make up excuses for it. that is putting words in my mouth that i never said or thought.

1. i don't need anyone's approval, trust me if i wanted to boo i would.
2. ya'll missed my whole point, but the whole thing is over now so i'm not wasting anymore time on it
3. obama is gonna be our next president any way, so we better go against the liberals while we can before they start eliminating our free speech

Actually, the Neocon Reps set the stage for that with the Patriot Act. (Not to mention the expansion of the concept "free speech zones" under our present Republican President. Your speech is free so long as it is not dissent.) Dems don't necessarily get a glowing review either in this area...

whatever. your just being a baby. you WERE in fact trying to justify booing, everyone that read the thread saw your reasoning for saying booing him was okay. i didn't say crap about your intent or why you were doing it..just that you kept trying to say it was okay. but keep taking the cheap shots all you want to. i will still defend my dad as i feel thats what family is for.
