I laugh because he is notorious for blocking people on Twitter. A few years ago I had a differing opinion presented in a very respectful manner and "poof", I was blocked.

I'm not sure why he continues to bring Trump into this. A lot of Trump supporters who are also liberty alum aren't exactly happy with his conduct. I wish that Jerry, and his supporters would take a step back and see this is bigger than who is president for 4, maybe 8 years. This is about the Christian heritage of a University we love.

Until he realizes this and is willing to listen, nothing will change.

Well, Jr. has publicly provided the information he supplied to the new outlets. I hope all of those who chose to believe everything that the press said are equally inclined to believe Jr's part of the story.
We do know for 100% fact, that theses particular news outlets do everything they can to discredit anything Christian or Conservative, regardless of the personality/target .
I am mostly satisfied with Jr's explanations. The Miami nightclub response is a head-scratcher. But, based on past experiences, exclusive of Jr., I am not inclined to believe most of what the liberal media spew.
If I was Jr. I would do some things differently, re-think some things. I am far from a blind supporter. I disagree with some things he does. But I also am aware, no two people agree on everything. I do believe the external audits, are a good thing and strengthen the legitimacy of our beloved university.
Frankly, some of the silly things posted here by the known haters, have pushed me further away from their point of view. It is kinda like the Trump-haters. They have a point to be made on several things, especially regarding some of his personality traits. (while typing this, I was watching TV and he made a dumb statement regarding those who work for him). But their sheer lunacy on many others, out-weigh and over-shadow any legitimate criticism they hold.

I skimmed through the full answers. I never questioned the business deals. Jerry is an incredible businessman and real estate developer.

My issues have been the culture of fear, using Jesus to justify political actions where it’s blatantly not connected, and how he treats people. They’re character issues, not business acumen issues. Those things haven’t been addressed yet.

I legitimately would love to know why you guys still support him. I'm honestly just curious. I used to be a supporter of his. but I guess my limit is a lot shorter than a few on here. I love my school and how it looks and reflects on our beloved University is really upsetting. I owe a lot to Liberty and I want to see it succeed but I also don't want to see it go down a path of self destruction or see it turn into another Baylor(baptist in name only). I WANT to send my future Children there. I think that is the thing that some of you guys who label me as a hater don't understand. You see me as a person who is jaded and hates the school now which is absolutely not true. But I also, As flameshaw so eloquently stated don't agree with everything he does. And right now I'm finding I agree with less and less things as these years go by.

Yes, there was one in the late 90's/early 00's with Mel White on the campus of the old Thomas Road, and then a second time Soulforce was welcomed on campus. This second time, those of us on campus, during a hall meeting, were reminded that we couldn't attend a protest unless it was an approved protest by the administration (or something similar to that - I forgot the exact words). Then there was a third time where Soulforce was banned but several members of Soulforce wanted to be all SJW so they stepped on campus reading a script just to be arrested.

That is quite different than students flying a pride flag following Jerry Jr's wife's comments about how their granddaughter was going to be raised as a girl (and I agree with Becki on that one). It is my personal opinion that that would've never happened while Jerry Sr. was around, and I applaud Jerry Jr. for being willing to let students speak their mind. I will be interested to see what happens at the protest tomorrow.

It’s a classic red herring. Change or shift the subject. Hey, I club in Miami and do things other employees would be fired for. But I love that orange guy in the White House and (insert cliche about the liberal media here).

Interesting. The balance sheet is an improvement over a few years prior. Just a few years ago, there were plenty of discussions about endowment being large, but it was always based on land and buildings. 1B in investment/securities is some serious skrilla! Gauger at 180k...his last employer didn't think nearly as highly of him.

I’ve been saying this for years. It wasn’t based on land/buildings...all one had to do was read the 990 which has always been public.
