The following post is toung in cheek and will be my last on the topic:

It is the year 2013
and a reporter says on the local webnews:

"Today Liberty University has announced that it will call it quits and close down at the end of the semester. After relaxing all rules to conform with those of a state university in 2010, enrolement dropped nearly in half over the last 3 years.
Falwell: ' We realized that Liberty was no longer Liberty without any rules. There was nothing to make us different. So parents began to take advantage of in-state discounts to Va. Tech and UVA. So we can not afford to keep the doors open.' Many students also transfered to Bob Jones University."

Knucklehead, I love you. With that, I will exit this discussion, as well.

That's just completely 100% dumb. It may be tongue in cheek, but to think anything like that would happen is insane. No one is calling for the rules that Liberty was founded on to be changed. The people on the "keep the rules" side don't seem to get that. We want those rules to stay. We just want the ones that have no effect on Christianity gone. I'm all for and will always be for the Christian rules.

The rules make it that? Im wondering if its possible that we have so many people with little to no people skills who live on a campus where everything they will need is on campus.
To an extent you're right. However, at the same time, we have a large amount of kids who have been raised in places where they were always given what they wanted and everyone played nice. They were raised in church and never did anything outside of church. They have no clue how to act with people who are not Christians and disagree with them.
Thats sorta what I was looking for, people who cant be social outside of LU, so because they arent good with people outside LU they dont go outside LU, because they dont need to.

As for the t-i-c post, although that is completly ridiculous, I dont see why we should think its impossible for us to become a stupid Harvard in another 50 years

It isn't. However, it's equally ridiculous to assume that we would be Harvard in another 50 years just b/c we let SJ grow a mullet.

Oh Really?! Well you have to! You Lose! TOPIC OVERRRRRR

SlyFox wrote:If you include anything in your post that is not written by you, it must be designated as a quote. It may seem silly at times but from a legal standpoint it is to our own benefit to set this standard. If you are using a line from Abe Lincoln, put it quote format. If you are using a lyric from a son, put it in quote format. And most certainly if you are pulling something from a copyrighted website you absolutely must put it in quote format."

Thank you for Clarifying Sly... too bad other dont pay attention... Tisk Tisk :nono

How do I change my name to Saint Ragingtirefire?
You need a couple miracles first -- make sure you get witnesses. Healings are always popular. You need two "eminent virtues" that are testified to by character witnesses.

Then, of course, you have to die. You have to be dead for 50 years, IIRC. Then the pope sends you to the Congregation for the Causes of the Saints to be beatified. If people pray in your name and perform miracles or have miracles happen to them, you get to change your name. :D :D

Knuckle. That was the whole point of his tongue-in-cheekiness.

Man, becoming a saint is hard! I'll just stick with wearing the halo, thank you very much.

(Question: what's the difference between beatification and starting a cult? Aside from the death thing, of course.)

See, that's why I could never be Roman Catholic -- Protestants believe we're ALL saints. None of the procedure to go through.

And beatification means that the RCC likes you, and you're at least somewhat orthodox theologically speaking. If you start a cult, you're on your own. Do what you want, but you don't get the retirement plan that the Church offers.
