Yes because when someone says "I'm gonna get even with you' it is so rarely malicious.

Nothing 'nuanced' theologically about it. It is wrong.
I don't think anyone would argue that Christians should not be strong and bold in their Faith. That is not the issue. The fundamental issue is what to do to those who wrong you? Apparently, it's ok to 'Get Even' and stoop to their level. Apparently our God is petty and seeks to get even with those who wronged Him. I guess the weekend at Calvary was just for looks.
