I shoot a lot of stuff with a wide open aperture, which makes me constantly want lenses with larger apertures. That, in turn, seems to be what's the most expensive. I had no idea going into it that I'd prefer the expensive glass, but that's definitely how it's turned out.
My fiddy is great, but I'd like to have a good zoom lens at some point. Something that can go fairly wide (which is weird with the crop factor of the Rebel and lower-end Canon SLRs) would be nice. If I had that and something long for shooting halfway decent shots at football and basketball games, I could be content for a while. For now, I think I can borrow long lenses from my fine friends in LU Photography, so for now my sights are set on a new zoomer.
