62, my experience growing up in West Virginia (and you don't get much more rural than that), is that there are 2 types of rural folk: the "doers" and the "watchers," meaning some folks like to "blow stuff up" and others just prefer to observe "stuff being blown up." My family has always subscribed to the latter activity--it cheaper and less dangerous (we still have all our fingers) :P

If you're looking for them, they're there. Some are more subtle, but you still get the occasional Monster Mullet or Femullet. And it doesn't matter where you go. I saw a kid mullet in Santa Monica once.
