The only people out there who compare us to fanatics/terrorists are the far-lefties who are quick to distort things regardless of the situation. And ironically enough, they tend to defend the actual terrorists. That's why their credibility is minimal.
One more thing: Liberals used to blame Falwell whenever a skinhead threatened to blow up an abortion clinic. Just remind your liberal friends, as I do mine, that the uni-bomber was a zealous environmentalist, and that usually ends the conversation.

Why am I not surprised?

Anyway, this is definitely NOT what was needed as far as publicity is concerned...ARGH!!! One person can easily go and mess it up for a bunch of people...so frustrating :furious :frustrated :banghead

The thing is people that were looking all week to tear this college apart have finally found their way to do so....It could be a big deal or it could just kind of fade away, it depends how the media feels today....with all the presidential races already in full force I doubt this story gets much time...but then again, you never know....I pray it doesn't

the kid is an idiot...and most rational people realize this, but the media is far from rational and if they decided to pursue this story they could change the public perception of LU very quickly if they wanted to....the media does have power whether you like to admit it or not

It's easy for LU folk to feel like we're under a media siege but, for once, I'm siding with 'dox here. This is going to go away very quickly. There's no hint of any over-arcing conspiracy -- or even really a plan -- , no pictures of frightened children and, above all, no blood. The kid's an idiot who'll plead out and that'll be that.

but if it wasn't for the fact that the presidential races have been such hot news so quickly then I think that it would get more play....so in a sense this news was very good timing, but if it happened on a slow news week you know it would get as much play as possible....

I really don't think so. There's an expression in news that says "If it bleeds, it leads." There's really not much to report here and it being Liberty University isn't enough.

No blood + no harm done = no story.

i guess...i agree to an extent...oh well...who cares the kid did a stupid thing and i am sure he regrets it...

Thankfully, nothing actually happened here.

Having said that, this non-incident is nothing to be concerned about.

Liberty is in better shape than it has ever been. Although the media is as ridicuously unfair as always, leading Christians of all denominations have given this university and its founder a resounding ring of endorsement. Here's a short list that immediately comes to mind: Billy and Franklin Graham, Bishop Jakes, Pat Robertson and his son, Father Richard John Neuhaus, Dr. Phil McGraw and his wife, Tony Evens, Rick Warren, D. James Kennedy, Charles Stanley, Peter Kreeft, Alvin Plantinga, Ralph Reed, Jay Sekelow, Janet Paschal, and Jerry Vines...ect..ect.

In other words, the people that matter, get it, and this university is well on its way to reaching its goal in becoming the evangelical equivalent to Boston College and Notre Dame.[/code]

He will be re-admitted if the powers that be believe he will change.

Does The Liberty Way address bomb making? If not, it needs to be revised.

BTW...I would like to voice my dismay at Cider Jim NOT being logged into FlameFans today during our "mandatory" faculty meeting.

Fumble, I saw you sitting in the back row of the faculty meeting and almost joined you in reading the latest FF news; my "good behavior" in the faculty meeting was due to my laptop's battery being bad and not able to last through a faculty meeting, but I'm getting a new laptop tomorrow afternoon! :D

thats why i love classes with rows of seats right against a wall. plug up and don't have to worry about a battery.
if not, i run it with very few programs going and the screen turned down so i get max battery, which for me is about 2.5 hours

Guys,

He's definitely not coming back. The school could face some serious litigation if they let him back in and someone gets injured within 20 feet of the guy. The university would in no way risk the saftey its students by letting him back in. Hypothetically, if they let him back in and he should happen to assault another student, the school would be 100% liable. LU is not going gamble with a situation like this. He's done here.

Yes, it does. Don't ask me how I know that.

Just read in the N&A this morning that the kid made the bombs two weeks ago. Either he knew something nobody else did or this kid should be on the ATF 'watch list' for life.
