It won't be long before independent fuel stations owners go the way of the dodo and the oil companies own everything from the refinery to the pump. They're already raking in record profits. No one is going to do anything about it, though.

on my way home a few days ago i heard on the radio that the most expensive gas was the chicago suburbs, which is where i live. I didnt see it being more than 3.25 being as it was 2.99 in the burg when i left. the cheapeast i have seen around me is 3.65. it is absolutely ridiculous and unnecessary.

Chicago the most expensive??? I always thought no matter what California had the most expensive gas in the country.....interesting

its sad we get excited about gas under 3 bucks....where have we gone as a country!!!????

The government is paying lip service to the alternative fuel idea, but nothing is actually being done to make those alternatives readily available. As a result, we're seeing a supposed decline in the supply of gasoline, which drives prices (and profits) up. It's a great thing if you have a vested interest in the oil industry.

No. And yes. It wasn't a lament, just a statement of fact. I'm not saying I have the answers, but I can certainly see a problem.
