I have to try this "sub shop you speak of. I am an authority of sorts on the subject since that is my birthright being from Philly and being a "healthy" sized brotha. You can get good cheesesteaks in Jersey for sure but I would have to put my neighborhood's Pagano's up against any sub shop in the world. Wouldn't suggest taking the family on a visit there though unless accompanied by a body guard of some sort (actually it isn't THAT dangerous...at least not for me  ).

Rowdy Joe picked us up at the Trop and took us to White House Subs. He tells me guys drive down from Philly because they are so good. And I'm guessing Joe knows his Philly Cheesesteaks.

I'll post pics from our visit as soon as they go up on TripAdvisor (a site I absolutely love BTW).

Sly it was Gino's... Yes I can be a pig at times, believe it or not, I was basically fasting during b-ball season so I could be in tip-top shape for reffing. I have pigged out for the last 3 weeks and now I have to go back to the fasting part as Spring and Summer League's start in the next few weeks... Sly e-mail me those pics when you get a chance....

In light of the re-emergence of the Hamburgers thread, I'm bumping up this Italian thread. Since we have so many new people on the board lately, perhaps they could offer some more suggestions or take advantage of what has already been shared.

Besides, I'm jonesing for some pasta right now at my desk.

Me and Chris Lang hit Vinny's in Richmond last week. Vinny's is a chain now Sly so maybe it will come to Texas soon. There are 4 in Richmond! Gotta love that place.

I admit I was rather impressed. Then again, I've yet to find any Italian that I'd push away from in front of me.

We had this place Castaldi's in Norfolk, the portions were huge and I felt like I was in heaven when the family ate there. Sadly that location closed in a rent dispute. They do have one in I believe Cleveland
