I'm disappointed I'm going to be missing it. I'm in one of my best friend's weddings that weekend in Deleware

Really disappointed that once again the Flames Club Luncheon is not occurring during Homecoming. I get why they want to have it the week before to show off the completed stadium. But they could have a much bigger crowd with the alumni in town the next Friday. Two years ago the luncheon was one of the highlights of our trip.
My understanding is the luncheon is the first Friday of each month. I think the date was setup before October 2nd became the new Williams Stadium home opener.

I'm trying to get some clarification on a couple of issues before making the trip over next week. I have heard there would be childcare for the Chancellors Dinner. Is this true? And if so, do I have to buy Dinner tickets for the kids as well? I would love to be at the dinner but hasn't planned on it because of having three kids in tow.

Will the LaHaye Ice Center being having any free alumni skates this year or will Snowflex have any alumni rates? I have three kids who would love to work these into our schedule.

Yeah, I'm cheap. Now back to the questions.

When you register for Homecoming, it says you can purchase discount hockey tickets for $5. First off, what do hockey tix run these days? I thought they were still 5 bucks last year. And if I buy the $5 tickets through the registration, are they for any particular game or just whenever we can make it to the Ice Center amidst everything else?

GA tickets are $7 for hockey now. More than likely they are for the 3pm game on Saturday.

Really? They would sell tickets up against the football game? If that is the case then I'll have to pass. But if it is a generic hockey ticket that I can use some other time like a Friday evening game then I am likely in. Speaking of which, what time would the Friday Division I game be?

HMO - I thought the Pastor's Lunch was for pastors. I'd love to do the Business Executive Lunch for business purposes but I don't believe it is going to work from my family's schedule. If I were flying solo I'd be at everything. But with a non-alum wife & three small children I have to choose my battles wisely.

Friday nights game is at 7:30. I found out the alumni office has tickets for both games. Depending on which ones they save for you, that's the game you'll have tickets to.

Pastor's lunch would be good for anyone associated with a Church. Should be a good networking opportunity with a good set of speakers.

I hadn't considered it before but I will check into it. I'd certainly love to secure some new clients.

So is childcare offered for the Chancellor's Dinner? No one ever answered Sly.

I have heard from other sources that there is free childcare ... just feed them before you drop them off. Mrs. Sly & I are planning on being there. If anyone hears otherwise please let me know.

As for Alumni Skate or Snowflex, anybody heard anything?

Anybody up for playing the new disc golf course sometime Thursday afternoon or Friday morning? I suck, but as someone in student ministry, I feel it's my obligation to play as much as possible.

Thanks for the verification. One last question on the childcare front ... will it be at TRBC in North Campus?

Haha, I only want the PM's if I'm not getting on here enough to answer the questions. KidsCove at TRBC will be the child care location

Yours Truly + Mrs. Sly + 3

I can't make the lunches today due to family obligations. But you may see us around campus this afternoon ... I would guess either skating at LaHaye or tubing at SnowFlex. We will definitely be at the Chancellors Dinner this evening and likely the bonfire afterward.

I really wish I could go to the Chancellor's Dinner tonight, but with an 8 month old whose bedtime is 7pm it's tough.

The TRBC childcare is the only way we could pull it off. Kudos to whoever had the forethought to make those arrangements.

I haven't decided what I'm doing yet. I didn't have the money to lay down on the dinners or lunches or whatever plus the girl is coming in town today so I didn't want to make her sit through those. There's a ton of stuff going on so I'll probably just play it by ear.
